He got some stick last season but to me he just looked like a kid who couldn’t really believe he was there and played everything very safe. Think he’s going to be excellent though now he knows he belongs.

He's got it all there if he wants it and, fortunately, it looks like he really wants it.

I'm no good with formations, but I thought they played a diamond in the first half too?

I think there were big differences in the defensive aspect. First half I'd say we would eventually drop into a 4-2-3-1/4-4-1-1 shape when defending. But more and more Poch seems to go, especially with Moura and Kane who both take up centre forward positions, as a 4-4-2 with a narrow diamond midfield and without the ball we just seem confused. Acres of space on the flanks the opposition exploits and our midfield players just seem permanently confused as to who to pick up and we're constantly scrambling and trying (failing...) to plug gaps. I don't think it looks convincing at all, but it seems like something that is here to stay.

Love seeing Scz...Schez....Scznz......that Polish c**t beaten any time, but getting done by Sir Harry from the halfway line is something extra special.

Booed him the whole match. Was behind the goal when the chip when in. Overjoyed.

COYS!

Second half was nowhere near as good as the first. Some of the more senior players seemed to be easing their way back into it, and that's being generous. Until that goal Kane didn't look sharp at all, Sissoko a little off the pace, Ndombele did well for the second goal to pick Moura out, but, awkward running style/gait aside, looks nowhere near fit enough yet, and Vertonghen looked all over the place.

Main thing that needs to be taken from it though is Poch.... please stop playing the fucking diamond. Straight away started causing issues.

Overall an entertaining pre-season work out, and a nice way to win it at the death. As a collective they look quite sharp, the first half in particular had lots of encouraging signs, and none of the youngsters disgraced themselves and several can be pleased with their outing. On to the next one.......

You can say Kane didn't look sharp but the header when he out jumped Barzagli and the chance where he cut inside De Ligt were both chances he made well for himself and went narrowly wide. Could have scored 3 easily! Once the season starts and he is more clinical they will be going in.

Missed the game but been keeping one eye on the commentary.

What has Skipp done so well? Great to hear he's playing well.

Get in!!!! 3-2
I see no one really responded to this in the excitement about the Kane goal.

But he literally did everything well. I mean, yeah, it's only pre-season, but it pretty much a perfect DM's game from him. He won the ball countless times, covered the FBs well, and used it really well when he was on the ball. He hardly misplaced a pass. He was the clear MOTM.

I really like Roles. Very intelligent positioning and was really positive in his decision making in taking the couple of attempts at goal. Have the training staff work on his sprinting and upper-body strength and we'll have a Dele Mark II.
Needs to marry someone with the surname Royce if he really wants to be taken seriously

I really, really liked Tanganga's game. He was very calm on the ball, and there were a couple of very cool diagonal passes that he executed perfectly when he could have gone for the safer backward pass. I had no idea he was that good on the ball.

To be honest with Kane I judge his sharpness on stuff like his first touch and ability to run the channels and press. He's such a talented footballer and goalscorer that in every game he plays he'll be in position to poach chances/grab a goal or ping nice passes (or what we saw this afternoon!), but his best work, especially for the team, and when he is firing on all cylinders has always been when he can run and run and run.

Ugh. Social media always reminds me how many ****s there are around. SportBible and a couple of others have reported the goal and most of the comments are ‘he’s still a spastic’, ‘he still didn’t know how to square it against Croatia’, ‘greedy ****’, ‘overrated’, ‘it was way past the halfway line’, ‘now he doesn’t have to claim Rooney’s halfway line goal as his own’, ‘so what, it’s a friendly, means fuck all’. Etc etc.

So many funny people around I’m scared I might laugh myself to death.

One comment that did make me laugh:

Name a better partnership than De Ligt & conceding a last minute winner against Spurs to make it 2-3.

Dtxspurs hot take (sort of joking) after 1 pre season game: Dele Alli won't be apart of our best 11 next season.

I say this as a slight joke based off todays performance but wouldn't totally surprise me.

I think Kane is raring to goal. Needs to get his sharpness back. But his movement on and off the ball was fantastic.

Him on his best and we would have won this easily.

Also props to toby, was a rock in defense. Always making space and being an option to receive the ball.

If Kane plays then you can be sure Alli plays, Poch always pairs them.
