anyone else thinking the reason Eriksen is so happy is because a move to Madrid is all agreed and we are just waiting to get in GLC and then Eriksen to Madrid will happen fairly quickly?

We wouldn’t be using him in our promotional materials if that were the case

All this trying to interpret Eriksen's mood is pointless. He's clearly a laid back guy anyway, so what are people really expecting? Standing in the corner giving Poch evils and making wanker signs behind his back?

He could be happy because he's secretly agreed a new contract, or be happy he's secretly agreed a transfer to Real Madrid. Or alternatively, he could be happy and smiling because he's paid a stupid amount of money to kick a football around in the sunshine and travel on private jets.

I know trying to base things off his general mood might seem like folly, but he really did seem a bit down in the dumps with a side order of grumps for the last few months, so something might have changed, though this could be unrelated to the club and football in general. I hope he signs a new deal, and if his dream is Madrid and they aren't interested, I think he'd be sensible to sign a new deal with us that is perhaps favourable to him if Madrid do come in for him in a few years. Maybe a few weeks off has given him time to get away and reflect on things and realise he is content at spurs after all. Plus he is still relatively young for the kind of player he is; he could move in a couple of years and still have a good spell at a top club on the continent.

Has the deadline been set by the club? Or by Eriksen himself and his team?

He may very well be fed up of waiting for Madrid and feel he's been strung along??

That's not to say that if they come in seriously he won't go, just I know that if I was happy in my job and the company I'd always wanted to work for were dragging out attempts to get me I may start to think its better to stay where I am.

Remember this interest didn't start this summer, it started last year.

I know it’s cliche but CE signing a new deal really would be like a new signing. We were all so consigned to him going and having to sign a new player anyway, this really would be a special

If you follow spurs on IG you might have seen the vid with him Poch playing keep ups (that’s what we call it) and if that didn’t tug on your please stay we need you heart strings then I don’t know what will.

Clearly there’s a very good working relationship there between poch and Eriksen, would be a fool not to think that he might be signing that extension sometime soon.

Would be really good for the club and Eriksen too. He is irreplaceable too me, he always has been. Not that I don’t think we could cope and recruit to continue without him, I just think the best case scenario is that he stays.

It's the hope that kills.

It seems news coming out of Madrid is that RM are close to giving up chasing Pogba.
Could be a bargaining position to drive the price down.

United are supposedly buying Fernandes, Maguire, Milinkovic Savic and are being linked to Aubemeyang. That's a heavy wad of cash, and I know they are minted but they do need to offload players.

Shame because he’s an absolute turd of a pro and would fit in nicely there.

Nice because he’s an absolute turd of a pro and can continue to shitspray his ego across the Utd changing room
