I would still like to be reassured that him being sold, means sold to us & not to any other another club like has been previously linked to, we still need to agree a free which is the main priority, regardless of the fact we are his priority club.

Benfica are in for him & have the cash from Felix deal and have CL like us.But even their fans are pessimistic that their club will splash even 50m Eur for him

Did he not come out before the Copa America and say he wants to join us and play for Poch

I wouldn't be surprised if the fee and personal terms were already agreed and we've just been waiting for Fray Bentos to sign off on it once they'd secured Fekir.

Could be done tomorrow or early next week in my opinion.

The biggest shock in all this is how quickly Betis have managed to negotiate the Fekir transfer with Aulas! We'd probably still be in the process of turning on the fax machine if it were us buying him.

Betis local media report Fekir is almost done and Spurs have tabled/going to table 68m Euro bid which is close to 75mEur asking price of Betis for Lo Celso

https://www.estadiodeportivo.com/betis/2019/07/18/acuerdo-fekir-cerca/234639.html

Snippet :

With everything, and with the positions so close, it only remains to resolve the departure of the Argentine international Giovani Lo Celso, condition 'sine qua non' to be able to undertake the arrival of the Franco-Algerian. For now, Tottenham , which is the team that has shown more interest for the '21' green, has not reached the amount that Betis asks and agreed with the player to access his request to let him out, because his desire is to go to a team that plays European competition, preferably Champions. The 'Spurs' were planted in the 60 million pounds, about 68 million euros, a not inconsiderable amount, but that Betis will try to be even greater. At the moment in which this operation is closed, the green guys will go for their replacement, with which they already have everything practically closed .

Depends on how long they have been trying to sign the player for? People think we signed ndombele fast, but don't know how long we were linked with him for.

You are not wrong. Its a question of how bad we want the player. We saw from the Ndombele deal that we didn't take too much time ,thats the player we wanted and we were going to get him (we get the benefit of hindsight I agree) but in this case we are bouncing around several AMs and also the elephant in the room is Eriksen and there is no news on that. That's what adds up for me,it doesn't add up yet.
You are very naive if you think that all transfers will be the same like Ndombele. Every transfer will have a different dynamic because of differing circumstances. The way you are going on because we have not yet signed Lo Celso us getting very tedious

We'd been trying to get him since last summer.

Actually this mirrors the Ndombele deal very closely, Ndombele's deal was delayed while Lyon got in replacements and because he was away on holiday for two weeks. With Lo Celso Betis are buying their replacements and the player is away on holiday, the only difference is that Lo Celso was away playing in the Copa America so there was a longer timescale.

This could be true but there is also a big difference in both deals.
Ndombele replaced someone that's isn't at Spurs anymore
So there isn't as much pressure on Levy is there to get this done.
Also there is the talk of Zaniolo as an a.m.
and Ceballos cover just in case and if Eriksen stayed they are both cheaper options.
So nothing is really a fixed thing is it?

I find it hard to believe we'll spend £70m on a player a lot of us (myself included) had never heard of prior to this summer. I really can't see us offering more than the eventual £63m we could pay for Ndombele and I'd imagine any deal would be made up of lots of performance based add-ons.

As much as I'd like it to be the case, I also think Eriksen will be off if we do sign Lo Celso. It's been done to death in here already, but I really don't see us spending such huge sums unless we're getting a sizeable chunk back.

Im not doubting he wants to play for us, but what i am doubting is that we won't be able to agree a fee with Betis whereas another club might ...

If he doesn’t want to play for anyone else then another club won’t get him.

If Betis have agreed a deal for Fehkir, and have also only paid for Lo Celso this season, they might be pushing their limits. The lad is on holiday after playing a tournament so patience might be needed. The only way he might of signed early is if Betis had agreed the fee beforehand

Why have RM made a bid for Eriksen?
