The fact that Bale insists on staying at Real for maximum financial gain even though he will never be first choice under Zidane shows where his motivation level is.

Same place it is for a vast majority of us - life is short, families are precious. He's been handed an opportunity to make sure his family are sorted for life, why would he risk that for what is essentially a game?

I'm not so sure he's the hold up though - Madrid haven't said they've even had an offer let alone accepted one and until that happens it's not like he's been offered an alternative. We don't even know what wages he's prepared to accept because Real won't let anyone offer him a contract.

Has any team actually offered him a contract that he's turned down? Because I've not seen it.

He signed a contract, he is owed that money. Madrid put themselves in this situation. He has every right to rinse them for every penny. He is now 30, time is running out and he has a family. Yes, it's obscene money, but that is what Madrid offered him and it would set his family up for life after the game. I'd be doing the same.

He can do whatever he wants, but it'll say a lot about the type of person he is if he'd rather watch football for the rest of his career than actually play it.

He would have guaranteed financial security for his family for the rest of their lives from the time he was about 25/26. He needs to decide now what playing football is worth to him.

Whilst I agree with this, we are not taking about an ordinary Joe here or even a relatively wealthy member of the public. Or even a footballer at the likes of Sheff Utd.

I find it hard to believe he hasn’t accumulated enough wealth at Spurs and Madrid to this date ( not mentioning all his endorsements) to have already set his family up for life.

I think Bale has already set up several generations of his family to come. If money is his sole motivation now then I'd rather he stayed at Madrid to be honest.

It’s a bargaining position.

The early window close can't be in our favour either. I'd imagine that puts Italy, Germany and France as the most likely opportunity.
Trouble is that Juve have been spending money and playing him in the same team as Ronaldo isn't going to work. Can't see any club in Germany sanctioning those kind of wages and the only one in France is PSG.

Hence why he's still not moved, there are very few possibilities out there for him.

That’s just right though, no one is going to pay his full wages, and RM have got to be getting close to realizing that. AS article said we would pay ~160k, and around that level many teams would be interested, especially for a loan late in the window.

Possibly, but I don't see anyone outside of Inter, PSG (if Neymar goes), Utd and maybe Bayern being options for him, and Spurs of course.

Can RM afford to pay a player 600 grand a week for playing golf for a whole season , I probably doubt it , eventually they will have to give in especially as they’ve spent bundles already . Will he end up at spurs I’d like to think son, where we are now as a club , theirs ever possibility as I’m a half pint full of a guy , fuck the rest of you doubters :p:happy:

I think anyone seriously interested is turned off by 600 grand a week.

I think he's already set for life with the money he's earnt in wages and sponsorship in the past few years don't you?
It's funny how most are defending his attitude to stay for the money when if we have want away players here that wanted to move for money they would be called mercenaries and traitors and we should let them go if they don't want to "play for the shirt"
And they say football supporters are fickle.
