Bah i could do their job in two mins and i'm in the pub.

MEGA TRANSFER MERRY GO ROUND.
This week will see a transfer bonanza with neymars move to real madrid kicking off a flurry of activity. PSG will move quickly to fill the hole with a move for spur's christian eriksen. Manchester utd are already in talks with juve over the availability of dybala, while tottenham complete the deal for betis lo celso and dani cebellos on a year long loan from real madrid.
Great, now RonWol is going to be quoting this like it's fact...

Fearful of Liverpool. They’ve bought nobody yet and centre back is one of their weak spots.

They conceded very few goals despite their second best CB out injured for big parts of their season (Gomez). They also have capable backup in Matip. How exactly is CB one of their weak spots?

If we had a youngster as good as Gomez coming through I'd be very annoyed if we reduced him to a backup player and signed a 30 yo. Gomez is on course to become Englands best CB imo.

He will go to whatever side paying what he wants and giving him security in form of a 3+ year deal imo. If that side is a top side it's a bonus.

Can't fault him for looking for one last big payday setting him and his family up for life. I wish that was with us, but clearly that ain't gonna happen.

Figures don't quite stack up with Roma. Looking online Toby would have to be alongside De Rossi as their top earner to get £150k. They hardly pay anyone over £100k it seems.

Can't see the Roma deal happening, Don't see him joining a Europa league team who will be 25 million out of pocket therefore not able to give him 150-200k when he can wait 12 months and get huge signing on fee/wages. Only Europa league team which has a shout is United.

Why did Toby actually want to leave last summer? Was it purely about money? If it was about competing for trophies, then Roma isn't exactly a step up. It just seems like he's leaving for the sake of it now, from both perspectives.

I could understand it if Real, Juve, PSG etc were favourites, but our world class CB is potentially joining a mid-table Serie A side seemingly out of spite. I wish both sides would just accept that this is a bit silly and agree on a new deal.

There has never been any suggestion that Toby wants or wanted to leave, that I can remember. Just a disagreement over pay, which escalated to irreparable.

There was some ITK from way back saying that Toby was way out of line and very disrespectful to Poch so I guess it's hard to say whether it's silly or not without knowing the full facts. Seems like Poch wants him gone though.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see him stay and then go to Ajax on a free next year.

Happily would take that tbh.

It's not like we'd be missing out on a huge fee like with Eriksen. If he goes next year we would of had 5 years of top quality service from one of the best CB's in the world, even if he did go for free.

If Roma is triggering Toby release clause, i wonder if it is worthwhile inquiring whether Dzeko wants to join Spurs. Would be a good replacement for Llorente.

Toby is finding out that as a 31 year old demanding big wages his options are limited, Roma finished 6th in Serie A and it seems there's not much interest (there could be of course).

The club are handling this very well, sending out a message that we won't get bullied or blackmailed and that contracts are there to be honoured. If he goes to Ajax in a year there's no way they'll pay a bloke nearly 33 £150k+ a week.

Toby or his advisors have really played this poorly, we have had a contract on the table for him for probably close to 2 years improving his terms, probably with a signing fee and new bonus clauses. He has missed out on all that and still has no concrete offers in.

If the 'Poch wants him out' ITK is correct (and it comes from our most reliable source), I doubt there's a contract waiting for him to sign. There undoubtedly was at some point but I think it may have been scrapped when the situation deteriorated.

If he really wants £150k a week, and presuming at least a 3 year contract, then at £25m it’s a £50m+ deal. Small change perhaps in the Premier League when a Harry Maguire = £100m+ inc wages but in the real world that sounds like a big outlay for a player with no sell on value and who has arguably already peaked. I wonder if he might end up in China?

Maguire has a sell on value and 7 or 8 years left, completely different situation.

My point is that Toby (and Eriksen) have over estimated their worth and appeal, as usual Levy has played this well.

I don’t think it’s on the table any longer. We pulled out of negotiations as soon as he went back on a verbal agreement and demanded more money.
