In terms of the right back slot imo we need to have pace just don’t see any of our options giving us what is needed!! Someone touched on it earlier we need to get back to the walker rose years of them bombing down the wings just like what Liverpool’s are doing now! Rose and sess can do it down the left side but we badly need a right back don’t think foyth is the answer as number 1 choice

I agree that we need a specialist RB with plenty of pace but there are (IMO) good reasons why we could well end up with Foyth there. Firstly, he has masses of potential but he wants game time or we'll be struggling to hang onto him. Secondly, he needs to develop but we have a decent selection of CBs to choose from. Thirdly, I'd hazard a guess that we've paid top money for Ndombele and we're still in for LoCelso but Betis are playing hardball on the price. If we can't get them to budge our transfer budget is severely stretched and we'll have to compromise at RB (even if we sell one), and Foyth is that compromise.

What's not to love, young CB taking responsibility to improve by analyzing his opponents.

Though as one fan pointed out, maybe wyscout wasn't the only app Foyth downloaded...

I have very high hopes for Foyth this season, I think he's going to be an excellent player for us. Especially with his versatility, it'll be interesting to see if he gets some time at right back.

I love Foyth but he always makes those dangerous tackles and blocks inside the penalty area.

I love Foyth but he always makes those dangerous tackles and blocks onside the penalty area.
Yeah he has to dig himself out of dangerous situations, with time though he'll learn to be proactive and prevent those situations from occurring as often.

Has he been linked to somewhere or was there any rumours about him? I would like to know why this is in transfer section.

Yes hopefully. Im wondering how fast he is, because he often gets a bit behind, but he looks fast. Maybe its a timing/positioning thing. He will only be better and better.

He needs regular football I think, a loan move for a season would benefit him big time if he is not going to get much playing time again with us.
Wish Poch would let more go on loan than he does, can be the making of a player.
lets let all our defenders go on loan and play ten forwards:sneaky:

Those penalty box challenges ?
This is what I said post match. While its accurate to say Foyth had a good match , equally it is also correct that he is not ready yet for a starting RB spot. Atleast cure for this is for him to play more & more games. With experience he will learn - afterall he has just played in a position thats alien to him

Like a lot of the Argentinians he's clearly a tough lad and very good on the ball, its easy to see why he gets in ahead of KWP who doesn't have the same physical presence.

But players go past him too easily, we've already seen he's a disaster waiting to happen, reminds me of Stones who has never eradicated mistakes from his game.

I'd be surprised if he's ever a regular starter for us.

He’s young and there’s still a lot of mistakes in him but he will improve with more game time and experience.

That said, for the time being, it’s better if he’s played at RB or DM so that any mistakes by him, would likely not be in the penalty box.

Overall he was good defensively; even though he looked like he struggled sometimes in the 1vs1 situations, he was actually only beaten twice in the whole 90 minutes.

As an attacking threat, however, he pretty much offered nothing. I'm not sure if that was the coach's game plan or not, because he looked like a CB covering the RB position and told to play it safe.

I would say that he probably needs another yard of pace if he's going to make it as an 'elite' level fullback.

Argentinas defence is not so good either. There is a lot of 1v1 with no support from the other defenders. He have to stop his man otherwise they are through without any defenders at all.

But he uses his arms to much also those chance tackles are nerv wrecking.

Seriously needs to do a short course on ECON 1. Get him to learn about cost benefit analysis because some of those challenges even if perfect are just not worth the potential cost. He is a fantastic tackler but over zealous. Some of the best cbs in the world hardly make a tackle a game. Love him though

Players like Foyth and Dier are never going to wow with their play but are essential to a CL club due to their versatility and ability to slot in among numerous positions with squad rotations. Great team players to have.

As soon as a discussion is started about a player linked to a piece of ITK it ends up in the transfer section. Like it always does.
