Yes it's up to him. He decides if he wants to sign a contract with another club, nobody else.
Oh of course. I meant whether or not he's staying or not. He may now wish to stay and make that intention but if Poch wants him gone then he'll be pushed. Going off the ITK we had earlier.

Even if he's pushed it's still up to him if he leaves or not.

I'd be astonished if nobody comes in for him at 25m. I'd imagine that's when he'd be offered a new deal here, and probably a very competitive one at that. Of course, it all depends on whether Poch will mend any bridges but it smacks of cutting your nose off to spite your face if he doesn't IMO.

He has played 50 games for us this season, so clearly Poch doesn't let any potentially bad feelings between them affect the team selection. So unless we buy someone better than Toby this summer, I can't see Poch not selecting him.

For a start it would have to be a team in Champs League. Personally I think his demeanour and approach means he will stay for another year in the belief we can really challenge for trophies this year .

That's all true. Just going on the ITK we've had

Toby is the best example of a solid professional on the pitch. Has not let the contract stuff affect his game. Any club would be lucky to have him IMO.

Noone can mark Aguero like he can and he is probably top 3 passer in the team and anyone can look good defensively next to him. We'll be very lucky if he stays.

Sanchez put in a really top notch performance last night for Colombia. If Toby goes I can't see us bringing in another CB with him, Foyth and Dier in the mix. Would be OK with adding the 25m to the RB fund.

Also, if Pochettino sees Sessegnon as a LB right now, and we do sign him, could see Davies shift in to CB more often, as well. I think he's looked pretty good when called upon there.

I can't quite get my head around the fact that nobody has bit for 25m.

Its bordering on stupidity from the likes of Utd. Eyeing up Mags for 3x the amount and he's not even half the player and likely never will be.

Even if Toby is asking for a 4 year deal at 200k it's a no brainer in my book for a team like Utd.

Madness.

They've had so many terrible deals in the TM, that maybe they're shy to pay another big salary to an older player like they did with Sanchez.

The 25m comes into effect in the last two weeks of the window.

Are we sure the clause is even true? Has his agent, the club or the player mentioned it themselves? I know the media have but it’s a bit strange his agent hasn’t been out there offering him about. Unless of course he doesn’t want to leave.

That’s £41m in wages + £25m. It’s odds on he’ll want a massive signing on fee, image rights etc.

It’ll not be far off £80m and there is no resale value on him.

With the way United have been burnt with the Sanchez deal you can see why they might be hesitant in doing a deal like this.

I have a feeling he has offers lined up as a free agent in a years time where he can bag a huge signing on fee. Just a hunch.

Maybe he is waiting to see who we sign before leaving too soon. If we show big enough ambition in this window he may well want to stay. There's not too many options when you consider not too many clubs are more appealing than us right now.
