I had multiple family members working very closely with the players/coaches at that time, none ever said he blanked anyone. All I have been told about him has been extremely positive, he personally helped raise money for charities close to my family by always donating shirts, balls, boots etc. He was never told to do it nor ever advertised the fact he was doing it for good publicity. Always dedicated to training, often staying behind even before making it ‘big’ and from what I’ve been told, never changed all the way up to moving to Madrid.

Don’t believe the rubbish that’s being fed to the media about him from the past or the present.

Every summer there is that one major one which drags. This will be it. Expect SSN deadline day to flog him around the world for views if he still ain't gone anywhere.

Do we still have first refusal on Bale? If RM agree a fee with another club, we have the option to match it.
Why couldn't we match it anyway? And in the end it's Bales decision so I'm not sure I see the point in that option.

I'm sure Man Utd thought Alexis Sanchez was an unbelievable player who would elevate their team as well. I suppose my main concern in all of this is that they will try to snaffle Christian Eriksen as part of any deal. We've never come out on the right end of any deal with RM IMO.

We came out alright of the bale deal?

Bale and Eriksen going in opposite directions makes perfect sense for both parties. Not saying its the correct move.

There's a certain symetry in what people are proposing vis a vis Eriksen, after all we did buy him with the Bale money.

I do believe we will spend this summer, but I would rather we spent it on 3 or 4 quality players, rather than spending most of the budget on Bale, even if its just wages. No matter what deal we'd do with Madrid, Bale would still cost a hell of a lot of money.
As for injuries, as mentioned in the thread, he's missed 71 games through injury in 6 seasons. But 51 of those games, in the last 3. His injuries are becoming far more frequent, and they seem to be recurring ones.

If Poch wanted him, then fine. I trust whatever he thought was best for the team. I just don't think its the best option for us now imo.
This is of course all dependent on Bale even wanting to come back. And nothing has suggested he does.

we won't be spending most of our budget on him though.

he will either come here on loan if we can sort a deal out, and Real Madrid will be paying the MAJORITY of his wages, or he will be coming here on a FREE with his next 3 years wages already paid, and will become very rich with a signing on fee from us, and a wage around Kane.

to many people on here think we will be paying a large fee, and have to pay him £650k per week, well sorry your wrong(y)

I will only take bale on our terms. At most matching our highest paid players. No way hes gonna eclipse our loyal players

we will not be buying Bale, not unless he was willing to drop his wages. so why would we swap a player that's got a fee over his head, to get a loan, or free signing. we would only have to pay RM a loan fee for 1-2 years, and that loan fee doesn't get anywhere near the minimum £60m for Eriksen
