JJ popped into some player threads earlier for a good ol fashioned Poopooing. No big surprised tbh:

Ziyech:

Brandt:

Van De Beek:
Thanks for sharing. Perhaps then by process of elimination we can assume some of the others not being pooped on are either so far fetched they don't warrant a response, or maybe there's a possibility. For better or worse i likemit when JJ puts the kibosh on some of these rumors. Means we can stop debates about the pros and cons of that player or how they fit with the team as it's utterly irrelevant.

Certainly disappointed with the news from JJ that Ziyech and Brandt are not happening with us.

Think both of them would've added quality in the final third, and at what appears a very reasonable price.

As for de Beek. Poch spoke highly of his attributes.

We move on.

Thanks for the updates JJ

JJ having a bit of a Thanos moment there by instantly wiping out half our favourite characters for the summer.

I’m not too disheartened regarding the Ajax guys, I can’t help but suspect that it’s a team which is greater than the sum of its parts. Brandt would’ve been nice.

I get the impression that we won't do any business until levy and Poch meet after the CL Final which could see other clubs moving ahead on such targets like Sess n Grealish
Grealish and Villa won’t know themselves until after next weekend. Villa now faves to come up anyway imo.

Am hoping it's because we have better players or players of the same ilk and don't want to waste time and be rejected as they are more attainable.

Hoping we have better options personally

Strange that we wouldn't be interested in Ziyech and Brandt with low release clauses. Maybe we're confident that Eriksen will stay but we could still use some depth.

I think it's more they wanna go elsewhere rather than us

For all we know we could have made efforts to approach the Ajax talents and Brandt but they had their minds and hearts set on other teams.

I'm more confused with some of the English talents we've been linked to and why we can't get those deals over the line.

All three players would improve the squad so I hope it’s a case of we are signing better

Yep. Because two of them have clauses In their contracts they will basically have the pick of a host of big clubs.

Brandt may wish to stay in Germany and Ziyech may wish to go to Bayern or PSG or Juve. We're not quite at that level just yet, although Im sure we are of interest. Win the CL and we should be a much more attractive proposition.

It looks like we'll have to do some outbidding this year. I hope the board are willing to do that.

We should ffing try harder and not meekly move on. Or Poch will...

Firstly, were we actually interested in said players ?

Secondly, who's to say we weren't prepared to go in hard for said players, but they have designs on different clubs to continue their careers.

Brandt might not fancy England, Ziyech might have been offered far superior wages, we're never going to blow every other team out of the water when it comes to wages. That's just being realistic.

I'm sure Poch knows what he wants, and no doubt Levy knows what he has to do.

Far too many variables as to why a player won't come other than us not trying hard enough. (y)

That will happen when you dont meet their demands and try to get players for next to nothing. And thats down to us.

Money talks and 90% of the time if you pay enough you'll get your man.

We've a world class stadium.
World class training facilities.
We're in the cl next season.
We're in a cl final.
We're in London.

The only reason any player wouldn't want to join us is they've been offered more money elsewhere.

Its totally down to us unless you believe the 'I want to win things' crap (but coincidently will be paid an extra £90k a week here).

Not saying we should bust the bank and bankrupt the club. Just saying imo its all us.

Not itk but everyone else is talking shit so apologies.
