Of course we don't want arsenal to win the europa league. But one interesting fact is that, winning europa league does not make your future brighter. Atlético won it last year, and they are not as good as they were in the past seasons. Man Utd won it in 2017, and no further explanation is needed. Sevilla won a lot of europa league cups, but they are still a way behind the Top3 teams in la liga.

In comparison, you can see how Liverpool has achieved after getting in the CL final (even losing the final) last year. Of course their improvement does not entirely depend on being a CL finalist. But I believe being a finalist still attract many transfer targets as well as maintaining the confidence of the players. Winning the europa league is not up to that level.

Watching them recently I don't think they have a cat in hells chance of lifting the thing.

I think one game where they have to go all out for a trophy plus CL, is do able for them. Chelsea aren’t upto much either. Hard to call but I wouldn’t be too shocked with an Arsenal victory.

I'm not one for mocking but be sure to let Arsenal fans know how relieved you are because they drew with Brighton, it means our stadium sponsorship deals aren't ruined as we would have lost 50-150 million in sponsorship deals with no Champions League football. It's not true but it's a nice subtle salt in the wound to how badly they fucked up.

It's obviously not automatically going to make them better, but given that they need to make signings and have an owner who won't fund anything himself, the extra money from CL football could be the difference between them buying a proper CB or not, for example.

You are definitely one of those smiley faced assassin types!.(y)
My years of spurs letdowns won't let me relax until 5pm on Sunday, but with the naming rights deal coming up and god knows what else that Levy inevitably has in the pipeline it would have been a major disaster if we had not secured CL football, and probably goes some way to explaining how wound up the players were on Saturday.
Looks like we might have got away with it this season, but it is unlikely that 70 points will get CL football in future.

Far too many people celebrating already.

1. We've crumbled before so many times and although unlikely could still finish below them.

2. If they win the Europa and we end up trophy less they've had a better season then us.

How is winning a trophy that is their only way into the competition we're in the semi's of better than our season. It's like saying Norwich had a better season than Liverpool because they won the Championship
