Burnley have been pretty decent in the second half of the season and aren't pushovers at home. Arsenal's away form has been very poor. How Arsenal play may come down to how their second leg against Valencia has gone.

But at the end of the day it shouldn't matter what happens at Turf Moor. I want Spurs to stand up and show some fight and determination and get the job done against Everton!

It’s then decided on goals scored, which the Arse would win. They’ve scored 70, while we’ve scored 65.

And if the clubs are level on goals scored, it then goes to the PL's 'Mornington Crescent' protocol (section c (1). If they employ Convention 2 (Malmesbury), Spurs go through on the away shirts rule. However, if they use Duckington (77), it's not looking good due to our lower dribble count (3.2 v 3.8 per echelon outside the area). I never thought I'd see the day when I would be praying for a Malmesbury. But it is what it is. Strange times indeed.

Best non Spurs playing football day ever yesterday. Sore head this morning enjoying reading this thread from Brighton scoring onwards.. For those worrying about an eight goal swing? That ain’t happening. We are Champions League. Always loved Hughton, now onto Wednesday.

Our last 11 games... 10pts

Won 3
Drawn 1
Lost 7

Scored 11 conceded 12

However even if we had that form all season we still wouldn't have been relegated. Just shows how shit you must be to be in the bottom 3

Burnley will also want to win to finish as high in the league they can for the prize money. What is it, £2 million a place. They’ve the possibility to finish 14th or 16th. £4 million isn’t short change to them. They’ll want to win.

Which is exactly why I don't buy into the whole "nothing to play for" excuse, in the PL a single position is worth £2 Million.

Imagine how much that means to the smaller clubs. These days it's not only about European football and avoiding the drop, it is about the financial implications of each position too.

Just out of interest...

Would Spurs 0 Everton 3 & Burnley 0 Arsenal 5 be enough to overturn the deficit?

Or does it a need a 9 goal swing for the Arse to actually go ahead of us?

Asking for a friend.

What a rollercoaster of a season.

Of course, things are not mathematically over but whilst we have suffered some dreadful results our actual performance levels bar West Ham second half and Ajax first 30mins or so, have warranted better outcomes since the Liverpool match where we deserved at least a point. A mix of bad luck and profligacy in front of goal have seen us lose narrowly.

We should hold back on the gloating until it is 'done' - but I am confident we will turn up on Sunday and put in a good performance at home...Poch will demand it. Also, people should respect Burnley more - they were superb against a desperate City side a few weeks ago despite being safe.

Honestly, that people still come on here and write such rubbish. We already used the Malmesbury Convention in the ManCity game. Because we're playing away second again it switches to Livingstone (3). This means away shirts don't apply and Ajax would win on average height of players. Some people.

Yes it would be enough

@bomberH along with the points you made I’d say this really underlines the impact Europe has on a team.

Us, Chelsea, and Farcenal all struggling and all in European semifinals. I don’t think it’s just a coincidence.

United are managed by a troll doll so their form is to be expected.

Tbf, Utd were in it to the quarters so they also had an European impact.

The champions league prize money split is also why we need third instead of fourth. The tv pool in England is 20% for finishing third and 10% for fourth. Nice to have that problem now.

I just hope the players approach the Everton game professionally, knowing that it’s not 100% done. That’s the only thing that can let us down. Especially if we get past Ajax. The euphoria will be huge.

A schoolboy error. You have forgotten the Basildon Exemption. Height excluded in EU countries, and 'on top' of that Holland is low and discounted. These trump Livingstone 3. Malmesbury still obtains. Still, it is good to see you testing your mettle DD. It takes me back to our tussles in the Great Aspidistra controversy. (I often quote your Blenheim riposte).

Last match of the season in the league and playing in our brand new stadium - against a team with nothing to play for.

I will be disappointed with anything less than 3 points.

I got hammered last night so maybe this has already been stated but hats off to the nine players on Saturday who worked their arses off keeping the goal difference down.

Genuinely heroic in the wider context of this season
