Draw or Chelsea win later and we only need two draws to get top four (unless Arsenal win their remaining games with five goals).

3 points now and the thing that I care about most (other than winning something) is guaranteed. St We're-Definitively-Better-Than-You,-You-Goon-Scum Day will only take us one more win: no excuses for not getting it done now.

the last time you did something like that it went totally pear shaped, you started a thread the season Leicester won the title:mad:

But if Utd take max points from two easy fixtures they threaten our top 4 spot, considering our awful league form.

Chelsea win for me.

But even if united win their final 2, if we win one then that's that, I don't think if Chelsea win that we would need any less than a win? Arguably we only need 2 points.

A Chelsea win is better for us as it drops the threshold to 72 points. So two draws in our last two games would get us CL football.

If United win, the threshold could be 73 points.

Don't care if we finish before 4th, behind Chelsea.

Mad, even if we lose both of our next 2 matches we could still qualify. It would only take arsenal not to win both of their matches and manu to lose today.

I don't want to be going into that last game needing any points at all, never know what to expect from Everton these days.

No-one wants top four :ROFLMAO:
United/Chelsea draw please.

Seems that way. Even though it’s obvious looking at the points tally’s, this just shows how far ahead of everybody City and Liverpool are. Reminiscent of La Liga tables in the past.

if we assume our goal difference remains safe, it seems to me that either a Chelsea win or a draw produce the best situation for us ie 2 points required whereas a man utd win would raise that to 3

Not massively worried about Everton, but I don't want to go into the last game needing a result against anyone. Any game can turn out to be tough.

Think UEFA, FA, PL, whoever, should announce they've agreed that only the top two qualify for next seasons CL, on account of the rest of the teams being pretty shite.

Ideally we want as many of our main competitors out of the CL next season. I think Chelsea are more likely to win Europa than Arsenal, they certainly have an easier route to the final, so it is better if they secure CL anyway by finishing in the top 4. Especially if their transfer ban is really enforced. Arsenal and United in the CL would be a greater threat for us. A draw today with Chelsea going on to finish fourth and us third would be ideal IMO.

Agree. We only have to look at the last day last season. Everyone thought Leicester, who had nothing to play for, would roll over...
