The players really love Sissoko

Fuck it, I'll get all soppy.

That was a truly beautiful touch by the players. He probably felt pretty fucking down after getting injured & having to be subbed off. For them to literally ALL come in & start singing his name probably made him feel like a million dollars.

Like I said. A truly beautiful touch.

I think JJ summed it up best in the commentary on Wednesday when Sissoko went off. A year ago we wouldn’t have been bothered with him going off, in fact many of us would have been pleased to see the back of him. Not now. He’s a key player for us. After he went off we lost the midfield battle completely. Yes Wanyama played like a warrior, but he was clearly not fit and struggled the whole game without his midfield partner.

Sooner we get this guy back in the side, the better.

We’ve completely converted Moussa, this guy is proper in love with Spurs this season and He’s converted me. He’s vital to us now.

A lot of people saying he’s been good because of how poor he was in the past , but I don’t think that does him justice. He’s been immense this season and I feel like if you asked any opposition mids about him they’d say he was an absolute menace to compete against.

Absolute nonsense I am sorry. He played very well at times last season. Everton and Newcastle away in particularly. I remember it clearly.

Also had a cracking game against Madrid where the eriksen winks Sissoko triumvirate was immense. I love the combination and it seems to have magic beyond its parts.

13 seconds in they all just celebrate with moussa and start slapping his head, he really is loved ?

We just need a player with a bit of vision to sit next to him in that deep lying position. I love winks but feel that he is very reluctant to switch play. He tends to play the short, safe pass when the switch is on.

Mousa has been immense this season. He barely puts a foot wrong.

Think when eriksen plays in the 3 with winks and moussa the midfield has a but of everything. Easy our best midfield combo.

If Mousa could shoot he'd be priceless! I don't understand how he's such a jigsaw like that, but I love him!

I agree. Still need a bit more in there in my opinion. I'm a big fan of winks but as I said previously, he isn't daring enough in his passing. He has those surging runs in his locker as well but we dont see them enough. With him and mousa both running with the ball we would really be able to break through the lines.

I think moving forward full back and centre mid are the first places that need addressing with top quality signings. We are the point in our development where we need proper quality if we are to push to the next level.

I think that's because he went and sat in the changing rooms after the Sterling goal and didn't celebrate with the players for a while after the game because he didn't know it had been disallowed

The general feeling was that we overpaid for him 3 years ago. At the beginning of this season the vast majority of our fans, me included, would’ve been happy to see the back of him for around 15M.

Now, 8 months later, his value is probably around the 60M mark at least and almost everyone would hate to lose him. Just a remarkable turnaround. He still can’t shoot for shit (if he could get 5/8 goals a season he’d be nearer 70/80M) but he now dominates the midfield like not many others can do. He’s almost become as important to us as Kante for Chelsea and Fernandinho for City, which is just ridiculous when you think about where he was in August.

Never been more happy to be proved wrong about a player. Always liked his nature and his social media activity in the face of regular criticism, but never for a second thought he’d make the grade here. Now we miss him when he’s not playing and he’s probably our player of the year - very well deserved if so.

I think Winks has to be more disciplined with Sissoko who isn't a natural DM. You need your partner to be able to cover you if the riskier passes don't come off and I don't think his defensive positioning is at the level of say a peak wanyama or Dier.

And how is the big fella

Any news on his injury

Best I can find right now.

Here’s a snippet from what the boss had to say. Read the full transcript here.

Will Hugo Lloris be fit for the match?
I hope yes, we are going to assess, we have a training session and we hope it is not a big issue, we hope he is going to be available.
What about Moussa Sissoko and Harry Winks?
Moussa Sissoko is not going to be fit, maybe for the next two weeks, we hope he can recover before but I am not so optimistic. Harry Winks we don’t now because it is a problem that is one day very good, next day not very good, it is about assessing each day. We hope he will be available for Tuesday but we are not sure.
