1st half Probably the best we have played all season against quality opposition in my opinion. Good possession, running passing and defending. Even Eriksen was getting stuck in! Our set pieces were poor though. Need to work on them. As for the penalty, that was never one. The fact the referee had the benefit of VAR and still made that decision say alot about his knowledge of the game.

Lloris will go down as the first penalty saver at our new ground.

2nd half - Almost as good as the 1st half as they came more into the game but we scored and held on. A professional performance by the lads and I so proud to be a Spur! Hope Kane and Dele wont be on the side lines too long, but it does look bad for Kane.

Son my MOTM as he stepped up and scored the winner in Kane's absence

Sonny.

But, a lot of people played very well, including some usual scapegoats. I thought Trippier played well, Lucas did well and fought hard when he came on. Dele did well, but got tired. Eriksen was all over the place. Toby and Jan = fantastic. Hugo played within himself - and obvious critical Pen save (that I almost forgot!!)

Sissoko my motm
Rose was excellent. Booking was a LOB.
Lloris didn't have much to.do.

I was particularly aroused by seeing a mobile & fit Wanyama.

But again, it was a superb team performance. It was a pleasure to.see us moving the ball quickly with some lovely 1 touch stuff. More so in the first half, but great to see.

Massive second leg. With their main players starting at the Etihad, it'll be one hell of a.task. but, for now, the boys did all.they could.

Nod.to the crowd too. Great atmosphere.

Moment of the match for Hugo, Sonny huge credit for scoring against the run of play.

But time and time again as has been the case for most of the season, Sissoko played an absolute blinder when it came to the important bits. I cannot stress enough how important this man is too our squad. Absolute monster.

But overall a superb performance by everyone on the pitch today.

Dele is so vital for us. He’s such a fighter...and has that winning spirit we generally lack. He was all over their back four tonight, and was again imperious in finding space.

Standouts for me were Sissoko and Winks. First game back for winks and he was great.

Obviously son and Hugo too for their contributions but no weak links today.

Got to be the match winner son

Then Sissoko and Hugo who were also ultra vital

And 8s for the rest , well actually dele didn't have the most influential game creatively or threat wise really

The whole team press returns. Spurs inspired by new home...again. The next chapter begins.

Lloris.........8.......Penalty save and clean sheet. Nothing much else. Blimey that's more than enough.
Trippier.....7.......Good game, good game. Kept Sterling at bay mostly.
Toby/Jan....7+....Make defending look easy.
Rose...........7+....That boy sure is lively. Love him. His sort of game.
Winks.........7+....Welcome back. Always looks buzzin'. An LP played at EP speed. (Ask yer dad or Grandad)
Sissoko......7+.....Didn't he used to be shite. Changes in a telephone box these days.
Eriksen.......7.......Another clever assist. Always has so much time. Increasingly effective.
Dele............7......Prefer him there. Movement excellent. Ball didn't quite run for him
Son.............7+.....Tireless and never gave up. Lovely and crucial goal.He could make a korea in football
Kane ..........7.......Given a bit of a work-over but kept coming up for more until the injury.

Lucas..........Straight in and doing what he does. Run
Wanyama...Surprised to see him but looks OK.

Giving it to Hugo. Safe hands at the end for De Bruyna's cross. Safe distribution. Penalty....

I thought that was by far our best defensive display for a long time. Apart from the penalty Lloris did not really need to get muddy. Trippier raised his game and defended really well after a few early scares from Sterling (who really has matured over the last 18 months into a top player). Eriksen was a really key player with his passes. I thought Sissoko had a really good game. The back 4 were magnificent though, and I’d give MOM to Toby for marshalling such a strong rearguard. The front 4 also were fantastic with the pressing and work rate. I think everyone was at least an 8 tonight, with Lloris, Toby, Verts, Sissoko all probably 8.5/9s

I never thought in a million years that Sissoko would become my default MoM. But once again the Big Moose shades it from Danny Rose and Winksy.

Not sure who was MOTM but I'm loving Rose at the moment.

On a side note, the atmosphere was better tonight then against Palace. One of most electric games I have been to in a while. Great night.
