Not all complaints from me at all - sorry if it came over that way. Observations.
Half an hour to queue up to buy a beer isn’t acceptable. There is no form of queuing system. The beer pumps were not working properly and the poor staff (who didn’t have a clue) were poring part pints and then having to ‘make’ pints by filling a single glass hand. It took forever. The concourses were chaos at every level and at all the time.

Doubt I’ll ever get to go down to the Marketplace - there is a capacity of 3.5k and of course people get there early. Because it’s like a sports bar people do not get a drink and stand back or leave. They remain in situ or sit on the stairs down to it. The club will not sell much food down there because of this lack of flow. Fans will find alternative ways to eat and drink (outside) and it will get down to a more manageable level in all probability.

My view in the South Stand upper is good as a view goes but I feel detached from the game, as I used to sit on the Shelf. I’m very conscious I’m just a very small spec amongst the 60k fans now and my view of the opposite end is not great in comparison. You get what you pay for I guess. Getting to the loo at halftime was also a struggle - glad I only managed to get that 1 pint! My transport has been affected (negatively) also.

I have not been blinded by the new stadium, and will wait for quite a while to draw my final conclusions on it. But there could be a chance of ‘Emperor’s New Clothes’ for me. I hope I’m to be proved wrong though.

A corporate juggernaut rolling forward. Maybe me being naive in my expectations though.
@Tiffers - surprised you could give an honest assessment a neg. There are and certainly will be fixables amongst that, but there are also some fundamentals that will require some harder work. Maybe the club has been surprised by the initial take up?
What a misery guts!
Shame you were blinded by the light last night. Was all good for yourself then? Instead of neg repping me then post a counter positive view where you tell us about all the things that were positive and great. I am sure people would find that insightful.

How was it getting into the ground last night? On saturday they had us scanning our tickets twice for some reason, once by a guy with a handheld scanner and secondly the turnstiles!

Arrived at 6.30 it was easy getting in Paxton Terr. entrance, crowded inside though all the bars etc

3 part actually - hand scanner, then through the metal detector, followed by the gates themselves. Seemed a lower level of actual security than Wembley in terms of searches. Someone mentioned if you wanted to take a ceramic knife or flare into the ground then you could conceivably do so. The whole process though does seem quick.

post about chaos

I used to work in the restaurant industry, and have been involved in the launch of a fair few launches of new venues.

The first few weeks is always a fucking nightmare. It’s chaos. There is always a teething process whilst the initial flow of business is so overwhelming, and as staff and administrators work out a new environment, and correct the inevitable errors of judgement put in place leading up to launch.

That side of things will 100% get much better.

Its a great stadium and the way youre over the pitch is a strange experience - because of how steep everything is

Is it me being a fat fucker or are the seats a bit cramped? proper tight but leg room is good.

It was mayhem on the concourse taking forever to get food but when i did i liked the food - the chicken tikka pie was good although would have preferred a sausage roll but they ran out of all pies at HT. The burger with beef brisket was lovely really good burger...

I saw Alyson Rudd waiting in the queue with her fucking Dictaphone looking like she was moaning and they presto she was.
Fucking hell how many things did you eat? No wonder you didn't fit in the chair!

I think maybe @Tiffers just enjoyed the game rather than filling in his pros and cons checklist on his clipboard.

Its also worth remembering the sound we hear from the crowd on TV is controlled by sound levels too. They reduce what we can hear. The stream i was watching yesterday actually took breaks from commentary and raised the crowd levels. Sounded good.

The main thing i got from it, was that there were far more songs being sang, and more than 1 or 2 rousing of come on you spurs that seemed to have happened at Wembley. It was like being back at the lane again, there were several of those a half. When i went to the Arsenal game it was like a morgue. Considering it was a derby too, the atmosphere was dead.

Was obviously mistaken by thinking what I had written may be of general interest or useful in some way :(. Obviously not wanted or needed. It was all great. Last thing I’ll write on it as this is an appreciation thread and people will get bored.

The atmosphere will get better as we get more organised. Sometimes you can be overexcited and that can hamper things, like for example too many different songs attempted to get started by different sections of the ground.

What I do hope is that people in the Park Lane end actually sing. I want the fans there to be singers. Not just people that want to sit in the "wall" end for the novelty of it. It's meant to be the end of the ground that pushes us on creating an atmosphere, not an end where you sit so you can tell third persons "Yeah I've got a ST in the Spurs Wall end mate".

No one's bored, but I think your tone was a bit moany pal. Especially the stuff you wrote about the view. It's a 62,000 seater, of course you're going to be further away than you were on the Shelf, what were you expecting? To sit in Hugo's lap?

As for the other stuff, there will be teething issues in the beginning. Also, as has been mentioned it's all brand new, everyone is taking a walk around the place to see it, that will cause havoc.

I think your "review" was rather negative. I'm all for positive criticism and feedback, but I found most of what you wrote ridiculous.

I saw Max Rushden, much greyer than I'd expected.
And Lee Dixon was pitch side for NBC, someone behind me shouted 'Dixon you wanker!' at him, fair play to him he laughed and waved at the fella.

I thought it was great and had no issues with the sound at all. I got there at 4:45, it was easy to get beer and food. Queues were fine, the concourse was busy, but much better than the narrow corridor I was used to in the west upper.

Only two problems, one was the toilet being shut near my block a few hours in (nothing major) and Northumberland park station having massive queues. But to be expected I guess... An alternative route home may be required for weekday games!

Weren’t you the bloke on the Skyscraper City thread who usually had a long moan about something? If not apologies.

Never been on there. If you want to look at my posting history/reps you will see the sort of feedback I generally get on here.

Anyone capture some clear HD images from last night's TV coverage? Specifically the overhead drone shots with the blue lights visible on the roof, along with shots of the fireworks? They looked stunning on television but can't find any non-watermarked high-res images online.
