A little birdie told me that Poch Jr was not very good (bloody useless) and is only anywhere near these teams because of his dad
Ant truth in this or has he improved since I was told that last year?

no, i think people are trying to push a narrative with the poch jr thing. he's certainly not one of the better players in the group, realistically he's somewhere near the bottom but the criticism he's had is way over the top. he's a solid team-player, works hard and is competent on the ball. he doesn't usually start but given the absentees then i suspect he will play(and do ok).

Amazing where that can get you so who knows how his career will progress

@Blake Griffin forgot to ask how did Pedder look at Norwich and does he look up to speed for u18 football yet?

first half he was neat and tidy but not very involved. 2nd half he got on the ball a lot more and showed some quality including a nice ball through to whittaker for our penalty. overall he did ok but physically he's still a bit behind, i imagine he'll play a lot more next season so will be able to make a better assessment of where he's at. i forgot to mention thorpe as well, he seems to have grown again and can't be far off 6ft now. i still haven't seen much of him but by all accounts he was pretty highly rated so it's strange how little he's played over the past two years, i wonder if he's just struggled with the growth-spurts and they're taking it slowly with him until the growing starts to level out.

Yes Thope has changed a lot and he is a good player who needs to put a run of games together.

Was you close to Muir when you had a look at the u16 because he is a Big lad who looks to be getting bigger ever time I have seen him?

the pitch was about 10 yards away and i couldn't really see one half of it as there were people standing in the way so i couldn't say with any certainty as to how tall he is. i was a bit thrown off at first as i'd only ever seen him with an afro before but this time he had floppy curly hair, i'm positive it was him though and the coach was shouting marqes/marcus so that kind of gave it away. from what i saw it was a pretty even game in the first half but 2nd half we struggled, we did have quite a few u15s playing though so that may have been why.

yeah, a few other currently injured players are there as well though so don't think it means anything. interesting that skipp is there too so maybe a chance he will play, seems strange to think that he's still an u18 as he hasn't played at level for a year or so now.
Oh right just see he said they came from training so assumed he might be fit but of course he’s probably around doing gym work or individual training.

Very much looking forward to Sunday so can imagine these boys are absolutely buzzing

Wouldn’t be surprised to see Skipp play. They’ll want to make absolutely sure they win the first match there even if it’s only a test event. Also helps with his mythos as a possible future “one of our own” player if he’s played at the first match in the new stadium.

What youth tournaments are this summer ?
U21 euros and what else ?

u17 and u19 euros, u20/u21 toulon tournament.

u17s is in ireland this year so if we have any irish members here it might be worth catching a game as england(assuming we qualify) and ireland should both have strong sides.

Am I right in thinking all the U17 and U19 qualification is done this week ? They play each other once in a group of 4 ?

To answer myself yes.

So U19 have to top group to qualify. U17 can come 1st or 2nd. Both have so far won their 1st games.
