Great player

A bit out of form but that comes with playing ALL the time and poor alternatives. At City he would be rested and have competition, which would elevate him.

Whatever way you paint it, will be a blow if he leaves.

I’ve got a feeling he is going to stay though - so let’s see.

So here in the canaries I was chilling watching Gol, the main spanish football channel. They just did a piece on Zidane and his wishlist for the summer... Mbappe, Pogba and Hazard. Our Chris nowhere near.

Whether it's good or bad (probably bad) I can see us going to a 4-3-3 if Eriksen leaves us and replacing him with a fast wing forward like England are doing

With Kane dropping deep and having son and another quick winger ahead of him. A midfield 3 of Winks Dier and Dele (if replicating England style)

Those three would transform the Real team tbf.

We've improved considerably since they've left. I don't ever recall us amassing over 80 points in a season even when we had Bale and Modric in the side.
We achieved that 4 years and 3 managers after Bale left / 5 years and 4 managers after Modric left. Let's not ignore the 6th placed finish (our worst of the decade) that came between them leaving and Poch turning things around.

The biggest difference now (well until this season) is under Poch we lost our soft side and became much harder to beat and more determined to win

He could close all speculations by saying "i am negotiating with Tottenham, it is in progress" he doesn't, so that says everything- he is gone.

The point I'm making is that our path, generally speaking, has been upwards since losing players we've all been terrified losing at the time.

Eriksen is a quality player but we'll adapt and evolve again if he goes.

Most important person we keep is Pochettino.

If we lose Eriksen, I actually think a more direct, Redknapp-esque approach is the way forward. The most exciting football we’ve played in the modern era was 11/12, Adebayor leading the line, Van der Vaart gloating begind, Lennon and Bale flanking, Modric and Parker at the base. If we could sign a direct, skillful, powerful wide player to replace Eriksen, a leader to partner Winks in midfield, we could have the makings of something beautiful.

Poch hasn’t shown any indication he’ll play that way though. He wants the width to come through the full backs/wing backs.

For me we needed another creative ball player anyway ( even if Eriksen stays). If he leaves we’re going to need two imo.

While Eriksen was key to how we play, yes, we needed a suitable alternative. If he leaves, given that his type of player is at a premium, i think it’s more likely that Pochettino will have to devise a system in which Eriksen is not key.

Just need to sign a CM as good as Modric and we're all set
