Step up Spurs TV.
If the opening game
at the new stadium
is not your moment
what is?
I would guess the broadcast contracts with Sky and BT preclude any club (or other entity) from broadcasting a PL match. even if Sky/BT decline to broadcast a particular match.

I am surprised Sky would pass on this - as there should be enough curiosity to see the new stadium - particularly after all the delays, and given that the race for top-4 is every bit as compelling as the title race.

But that's a debate for another thread.....

No surprise, Sky hate us. Isn’t there any way we can give the pre-match coverage to someone else and stop Sky covering it.
Be grateful we haven't got it then. Imagine the ragging they'd give us if we lost!

Why is this such a big deal?

It's not really a "big deal". It does partly show why illegal streams are so rife though. For me personally this is one of the few games I would want to watch the whole pre match build up show and see footage of the fans/team arriving/interviews etc.

Which of us is 'fuming' then?

I've let our shine pretty bad farts this week. Does that count?

That is such a surprising decision, have Man City got more fans than us now too?

You'll also have all the Liverpool fans watching that game. And a load of neutrals who are interested in the title race.
I don't remember too many of us watching the final game at Upton Park so there probably isn't too much interest in stadium events from a neutral perspective.

It's not Sky or BT's fault. It's all part of the terms of their deal with the Premier League. Sky/BT would generate more advertisaing revenue for our game than they would from City vs Cardiff but their hands are tied.

For Spurs fans maybe not for many others though.

I understand why they're showing city because of the title race but lets be honest cardiff are going to get whooped. Are BT and sky not allowed to show games at the same time?

Sky and BT don't compete on time slots, no – I believe it's outlined in the contract. The audience for these games is already pretty paltry – the BT audience for Man U vs PSG was less than 2m – so why would they split them?

Man City drive more viewers than Spurs, I would imagine it's that simple. If they knocked down Old Trafford and built a new ground I'd imagine there's no way at all the first game in there wouldn't be televised as it would command a wide audience. Just how it is – we're getting bigger but we're still a relatively small draw.

Wait.... u guys don't have every match shown live? There should be various channels that shows each of the matches that are playing right?

We have 5 to 8 channels which we can watch, it's really useful for survival Sunday.
