Sound like a broken record but 5 wins and a draw will likely be enough (77 points) bearing in mind our rival's fixtures. That would mean, for example, a 100% home record from now on in and an away draw.

I dearly hope so. It means more to me than CL football does.

Unfortunately this season you have to look at the bigger picture over local rivalry. It could cause turmoil and a very uncomfortable summer if we don’t get CL. I’m prepared to take a bit of banter for the sake of the clubs long term future. I’d bite your hand off for 4th now even if it meant they come 3rd.

Their run-in:

Newcastle
Everton
Watford
Crystal Palace
Leicester
Brighton
Burnley

I dunno, mate.
They've been pretty mediocre away from home. 5 of those are away. But I'd never bet against an Arsenal team with pretty much no pressure on them, especially if finishing above Spurs is on the line

The Burnley game has seemingly killed us, domestically at least. Team looks devoid of confidence against anyone since. How do they think us poor fuckers feel?!

We can’t afford many more slip ups.

Quite happy we got Liverpool next up. We need to get something at Anfield and at the moment I prefer us as underdogs.

Fairly happy with the results today. Arsenal have a handy home record, so they had a very good chance of winning against United. They’ll drop points away from home though. Would have great to see Chelsea lose but great to see them drop points.

If we finish below Arsenal and in Europa spots it’s what the owners deserve.
However we can blame them for not progressing or competing for honours but it is 100% Poch and the players fault if this occurs. This capitulation in the league has been so so poor.
If Arsenal get CL and we get Europa going into our first full season at new stadium it’s going to be painful.

I agree to a degree it's everybodys fault, failed transfer windows, injuries, missed chances, bad defending, bad substitutions, even Mace for hiring dicks that might of sabotaged the build, but one of the main reasons as well is due to the progress we have made under Poch, we had 12 players go off to the world cup, more than anyone else, 9 of them went to the final weekend, another player playing in 2 major comps for S Korea. they have been playing near on twice a week bar 4 or 5 weeks since the start of 2017/18 season.

they are not robots, they are shattered, and tiredness causes mistakes lack of concentration and sloppiness. tell me 1 player in our squad that has had an outstanding season from day 1 that reached the final weekend of the WC. tell me how many weeks we have been able to field our strongest starting XI, with a strong bench

Everton, Watford, Leicester, Wolves and Burnley are all away. Certainly not easy places to go and win.

arsenal form vs the top 10 is poor they will lose a few points i think Leicester, Wolves will beat them

3 weeks is a long break. Players will go home see their families and hopefully come back in a fresh frame of mind. Always feels like such along time ago after an international break and that’s normally 2 weeks. Trust me Southampton will be a distant memory by the time we KO at Anfield.

I honestly wouldn’t swap our position with any of the others. I really wouldn’t fancy 5 away in last 8 all at tough places.

It's shaping up to be exactly as I said.

But the most stunning thing about my prediction - that others couldn't see (frequently the case) - was scum's scope to get to this point.

the thing is Arsenal have played 3 home games and 1 away game and got 10 points, their away record isn't too good. they beat Southampton at home (lost to them away), they beat Bournemouth at home, and Man U. they got 1 point away playing us. they haven't caught us up because of the reason you gave when you first predicted your forecast, they have caught us up, because we have had a mare

I really wished people would stop quoting "a 3 week break", we have a squad full of internationals, and most of them will be playing 2 important games for their countries, between 2 - 4 of them being captains also. the good thing is Liverpool players won't have that, even those being kept home will play 2 games for Liverpool, some will play 3 or 4 including internationals

Scum are where they are because they have won enough games to be there.

Not sure what you're on about, mate.

When we get back it will be a sprint to the line - 2 out of 4 teams win. We will have the advantage of 1 point and hopefully the energy of the home stadium....it's going to be emotional
