You can want this player and that player but the fact is until there are a quite a few to be sold first to allow room for new players the quotas dictate that and we are not a club that can afford to have players that cannot get into the squad sitting on there arce getting paid not to play.

HG talent will come at a premium, but there are some HG options outside of England who might be more affordable.

One such player is the brilliantly named, holding midfielder, Ronaldo Vieira at Sampdoria. The Italian side signed him for £6.5m in the summer from Leeds Utd.

According to James Horncastle in the latest episode of the On The Continent podcast, the 20 year old is starting to seriously impress. He didn’t get much game time in the first half of the season, but he is now.

We’re reportedly very interested in his teammate Joachim Anderson, the centre back, so I’m sure we’ll be running the rule over Vieira too.

Sess should probably be worth about 25mill, that's fair IMO. Anything above that we should pass.

He could probably do with a premier league loan too next season

I was thinking lately about our financial situation. We probably assumed CL group stage money in financial predictions I guess. But I don't think anyone was thinking about CL semi-final money. So if we somehow manage to get there we will receive like 30mln extra to the budget which then we can spend on transfers. With that money we can buy one player! I think Grealish is back on track ;)

A friend of mine is related to his family (although not directly) and apparently we’ve looked at him in the past

Another player for the future from the championship would be Rekeem Harper of West Brom. He is a central midfielder and apparently out of contract in the summer. The mail said the other day that we along with the rest of the top six were linked. I caught a bit of the last west brom fa cup match that was on tv and I liked the look of him, I was impressed with his positional awareness and the ability to recycle possesion.

I hope we go back in for Grealish though myself.

Excellent write up on him here: https://totalfootballanalysis.com/p...er-west-brom-tactical-analysis-statistics/amp

They compare him to Dembele in style. By the looks of it, he’s a very different type of midfielder to Grealish, who’s more of a playmaking no.10.

If only BC was still on here he’d be right up for Embolo, one of his future “Uber-strikers” to watch.

B-C was like a bizarro world scout, hated players who actually changed games and was utterly in love with those who could make a match completely sterile and boring. I still think his perfect version of football was that soccer clip from the simpsons

That Ismaila Sarr playing for Rennes is top of my list after scoring that outrageous diving header against the goons

Some more names to consider:

- Federico Chiesa (21, Winger, Fiorentina): The talismanic winger has been fantastic for La Viola this term, with 11 goals and 8 assists in 29 appearances (all comps). Skillful, hard-working, and has a real eye for goal.

- Ismaila Sarr (21, Winger, Rennes): The 6'1, rangy winger has really caught the eye this season with 9 goals and 9 assists in 36 apps (all comps). Very quick and direct, and can play across the front line. Will be interesting to see him vs Arsenal in the Europa.

- Brais Mendez (22, Winger, Celta Vigo): The playmaking, classy winger has registered 5 goals and 7 assists in 24 apps (all comps) this season. Wyscout had him in their La Liga team of the season so far (as of January), despite his team languishing in 17th spot.

- Pedro Porro (19, RB, Girona): The versatile wing-back has been linked with both Barca and Real Madrid in the past year. Excellent write up on him here.

- Christian Kouame (21, ST, Genoa): 6'1, powerful, versatile and quick; the striker has been linked with a host of big clubs this season. Whoscored had him down as their young player of the season so far (as of December).
Sarr did ok?

Injury prone

Embolo suffered a pretty horrible injury and was out for almost a year, Oct '16 to September '17. Hw's never really been able to establish himself as a first choice striker at Schalke and I think he's spent a fair amount of his time playing from wider areas too. Certainly not quite living up to the FIFA '16 fuelled expectations of his potential!
