One other thing after Wednesday the home/away ratio will be:

Spurs 6/4
Liverpool 5/5
City 4/6

Beat Chelsea and I’d say we are still alive.

I just think it’s still too early to call.

I usually do the predictor but I think it will be useless this season. So many twists and turns I reckon. The Man City injuries in defence could have some consequences. Shame we aren’t playing them while they have them.

False witness.
Obtaining goods by deception.
Fraud

double-dealing,
duplicity,
treachery,
chicanery,

bringing the game into disrepute
undermining his manager's authority.
There must be something they can get him on.

I don't think the FA have a catch-all "Ways and Means" offence ...... sadly! :(:(

I've been thinking back to the run-in in 2010 after the loss at the weekend. We lost to Sunderland in the league and Pompey in the FA Cup semi and knew we had to beat at least three of Arsenal, Chelsea, Man. United and Man. City in the six game run-in to make top four.

And we did just that, only dropping points at Old Trafford, despite being underdogs in every single one of those games (possibly with the exception of City) with a squad that was significantly weaker than what we have today.

Now I will concede that three wins from four against Chelsea, Arse, Pool and City might not be enough to see us win the league. But it'll make it an amazing season for us.

fuckkk. i remember. i was here

Well I’m bricking it about these next two games, really could make or break our season and by the end of them we’ll know whether we’re nailed on for 3rd minimum or in a scrap for 4th.

I’m saying we’ll win both games.

I still think 76pts ish should get 4th. There’s 33 pts left and United are on 52 pts. So 24 pts from 33 pts seems about right. Would mean 6 wins should see us over the line. And although it feels dodgy we could probably lose all the 4 big games and still make top 4. Personally think we will take 5 pts minimum from the 4 big games. We should be fine, for us to not get top 4 two of Chelsea United Arsenal would probably both have to get 28-30 pts from 33 pts. One of them might but 2 seems a stretch, especially as 2 will still be in Europa.

Spot on, I haven't done the numbers but it seems clear to me that many people are doing simple arithmetic and just panicking. It was always that two teams will need to overhaul us when the smart odds are that none will.

Thanks for calming me down a bit. I’m slowly entering the panic phase of the season where I constatly check remaining games and comparing to the teams around

The key is to come through the next two games unbeaten, preferably both wins but I would take 4 points right now.

If we can get 4 points from these two, that will give us a lift going into the Dortmund game. If we somehow get through the next 3 games maintaining a big gap over 4th/5th and make it to the next round of the CL...we will all soon forget about the Burnley result.

The thing is while we are still in title race (just) there’s every chsnce we may chase games like Burnley. If the mentality changed to preserving a decent top 4 lead I wonder if we’d have been more conservative at 1-1. In terms of top 4 it would have been a good point.

Thing is, we just couldn’t defend in that game. Toby and Jan were all out of sorts. Aurier and Sissoko looked way off the pace. We just couldn’t settle the game down after out goal which we needed to do but we couldn’t.

I like out mentality of pushing for games, it is why we are where we are. However tonight is a massive test for this team, away to a big team at a stadium we don’t have a good record at. I would be happy if we played out for a draw tonight because it also stops a rival gaining points on us.

if Goons roll us on the weekend, we won’t make top 4. Still city and liverpool away plus spammers will turn up for us.
