Afraid I'll be shouting for Liverpool. Anyone who beats the cheating, mercenary Mancs will do for me !! Have you all forgotten where our best players went? Hate the Mancs always have and always will !!

I'm afraid I'd have to agree...if I were on meth.

Don't want us to go above them, then? We haven't won a major trophy for decades and you don't want the result that actually benefits us?

The mind truly does boggle.

Liverpool form is actually really poor this year. P 8 and Won just 3 and only one convincingly. That was against Bournemouth who lost last 8 away. Be bloody funny if they came 3rd in a 2 horse race.

It really is. Nobody is talking about it either. Tonight's draw makes it 2 losses, 3 draws and 3 wins in the last 8. That is very far away from league winning form. They looked short of ideas against Bayern. Yes Bayern managed the game well as you would expect, but pool never really applied sustained pressure.

If we just keep doing our job we can catch them. The last 2 seasons we have been amazingly strong after Christmas. It will be a very tall order, but can anybody really say that we aren't capable of winning 10 or more of our remaining games? We've got momentum at just the right time.

I can see them faltering at United on Sunday. As the game went on last night, the crowd were getting really anxious and the pressure was starting to tell. As long as we beat Burnley, they will feel it even more. 2 points behind them and we haven't even really been at our best with numerous injuries and stadium delays.

Whatever the result is v Burnley which more so we need to win, we really need Liverpool to lose on Sunday.

If we win and they lose that means only being 2pts behind. Then after Wednesday if we are still 2pts behind we will play our next 2 fixtures before them.

If we get in front to stay in front we obviously need to just match their results. If they draw on Sunday we will need them to definitely drop points in 2 more games then us due to GD, well a lose and a draw more. If they lose then 1 more lose and we can go above.

The only downside is due to their fixtures whatever happens in cup matches they won’t get clogged up with rearranging any, so can go back a head in points then putting pressure on us, as we might be 1 or 2 fixtures behind. Hopefully with CL possibilities, the PL will force us to face Palace 12/13 March otherwise if Brighton beats millwall and we reach SF of the CL we could be playing 4 games in 1 week.

We could effectively put Top 4 to bed over the next 10 days, which would be pretty extraordinary considering it'd be March 2nd!!

Because it is a little bit coward waiting out the next round for more proof, I'm going to put my head on the line now prior to the next PL round. I don't think Liverpool will win the league this season.

Honestly, not looking past our game with Burnley.

Been burnt so many times, the moment is fans start wishing on other teams results, we go lose and it doesn’t matter about the other teams result anyway.

Win against Burnley, enjoy the few days until the big one at Chelsea.

You just know hazard will roll up his socks and have a worldie against us regardless of managerial situation.

oh I agree with the Burnley result, and even though winning the league would be a dream, finishing above Liverpool and finishing 2nd would bring a smile to my face(y)

with the Chelsea game, we need them to cruise into the next round, have a better game v City and lose on pens so hopefully Sarri keeps his job. then we need to follow United's game and make sure we mark Jorginho out the game, and make life difficult for Hazard, preferably a tackle in the 1st 5 mins that's not a red card offence, but puts him out the game for a month or 2(y)(y)

Would have been better if you said that in November when they were flying, no kudos given ;)

Funnily enough, it's precisely because we've been burnt so many times that I'm not fussed anymore about predicting stuff

I just call it like I see it and let the chips fall where they may

I let Poch and the players struggle with the psychological aspect of the game (y)

Imagine every time a Liverpool player goes into the city all they ever hear is “ Gone on lad it’s been 29 years you can do it”. Our guys probably wander round London relaxed and untroubled I think it’s a big factor.

Yeah, it’s pointiess if we don’t beat Burnley and we should focus on ourselves. However, a draw is fine. A loss is obviously better but them dropping points is the most important thing for me. There’s still plenty of games left after the next round of fixtures
Nah I think they've got to lose this one. Their run in is better than outs.

it's the way I see it. other than playing Man U, they only have us and Chelsea at home, and Everton (a derby) in a category of games you think they could drop points, and on paper at the moment Man U and us (even with our crap Anfield history) are the toughest.

to win anything you need luck to be on your side, something I don't associate with us, so us beating Burnley and them losing to Manure means us being 2pts behind. the hard bit then is us beating Chelsea as I expect them to stuff Watford at home. if we can then beat Arsenal and be 1pt a head they know they have to get at least a point to go above us. the more pressure on them the harder the games become.

the hardest part after that though would be Man C:cautious:

Thing is, they don’t need anyone talking about it. They know it. Since he said been there Liverpool have not finished the season well under Klopp. They’ll be fully aware of this.

United winning could begin the turning of the tide media wise. They’ve been obsessed with Liverpool winning the title this season from the off but do not discount the media in this country. They build them up for one reason eventually...

Any implosion at Anfield now will have the media creaming themselves I reckon!
