Lloris with a smart couple of saves.
Aurier with a peach of a cross and very good performance, Trippier would have got roasted.

Vertonghen motm.

Sissoko is a fucking animal.

If I were to have another kid I'd call him or her Heung-min.

Toby was solid as a shit after a week on Codeine.

Winks is maturing into a very very good player.

Sanchez is our future.

Juan Foyth is going to be one of best defenders in Europe. I'll be sad to see Toby leave but Foyth and Sanchez are our going to be a very strong pair for years to come.

Christian with a top notch champions league performance.

Moura put in a good shift.

Llorente is becoming a key player, he must have great mental strength to turn it round like he has, well done lad.

Poch really starting to step up and this level, love the guy! Why would he leave Utd for us??? Miles behind

Sissokko for me. We haven't missed Dembele at all because of him. Just wish he had Dembele's goal scoring prowess.

Aurier over Trippier for me.

I just think he’s a better all round fullback.

Nice to see us not so exposed defensively on that side and having some pace.

Has to be Vert, He kept their main attacking threat at bay, whilst being our own main attacking outlet. What more can you do. Sissoko a superb 2nd and I'm putting Foyth 3rd, thought he had 1 hairy moment but his composure really did come through considering they were targeting him.

Lloris - 8 Saved everything he needed to. Distribution mostly okay.

Aurier - 6 I wish he would sometimes have more drive towards goal. Great assist.

Foyth - 4 Some good moments, some bad that could have been punished by a more clinical team.

Sanchez - 4 Some dangerously misplaced passes. Needs to get his form from last season back.

Aldeweireild - 8 Solid defensively and as always with some great passes forward.

Verthongen - 10 MOM Kept the wondered quiet and decided the game with an assist and a goal! Super Jan!

Winks - 6 Seemed to struggle with their press during the first half. Got better once Dortmund tired and he found more space to dictate the play.

Sissoko - 7 Solid performance! Who would have thought that he would be one of the first names on the team sheet?!

Eriksen - 8 Got better and better as the game went on. Worked tirelessly!

Moura - 7 Good workrate, lots of runs. Almost scored a great goal.

Son - 8 Also worked hard, never seemed to stop trying and got rewarded with his mandatory goal against Dortmund.

Llorente - 9 Not a lot of time but did exactly what he needed to do. Help defend and score a goal!

Other subs - Not enough time

Someone on one of the match threads recently compared Sissoko to our version of Yaya Toure. It seemed a little ridiculous at that time to me, but man today at times it looked pretty much dead on. He has grown into quite the midfielder. Winks has really impressed too. I always thought he was good but nothing special so to speak, but he has been great the past three or four games.

I thought Aurier was a bit poor but that assist was great. Everyone else was really solid (well obviously Jan was MOTM and amazing so besides him). That was just such an enjoyable game to watch and it will be nice to be a little relaxed as a fan going into the second match.

Jan obviously motm.

Son showing what we all knew anyway but finally he’s getting recognised by media.

Toby solid as a rock as always.

Foyth and Sanchez fantastic considering their ages and pressure of the game.

Serge few dodgy passes but along with team much better 2nd half and fantastic assist.

Sissoko everywhere and Winks put in another controlling performance, he has had a great few months individually.

Great impact from llorente and Poch absolutely nailed it again.

Everyone gets a 10 but a 20 for Vertonghen. If we can get job done clubs across Europe watching that will not fancy getting us considering we didn’t even have Kane and Dele.

Obviously Verts for MOTM. Both offensively and defensively excellent, and a goal and assist. He’s quicker than you normally give him credit for as well.

Honourable mentions to Hugo as well for THAT save from Zagadou on the brink of half time. That one goes in, and it’s a completely different second half.

Aurier still doesn’t impress me, probably made more than half of our total mistakes. Great cross for Jans goal though.

Son just keeps on going, fine performance by him as well.

Sissoko with a typical industrious performance of Sissoko v. 2.0. Everywhere, and stronger than any other player out there. Still player of the season so far for me.

Jan - mainly for how unbelievably cool he was during his celebration.

I mean come on, i’d actually sh*t myself if I scored that goal and he made it look like he’d just been told he’d got an upgrade to Premium Economy on a short haul flight

What a legend
