I understand the pressure thing, but Liverpool are already feeling that, if city go top now they might well not look back. Overtaking both is a tall order and we need them both to drop points at every opportunity.

To be honest I just can’t bear the idea of Liverpool winning it.

City win, more pressure on Liv with the added bonus of them getting wound up that Everton didn't try even though Everton on their best day would struggle with this city team.

look forwards to Klopp having a whinge and then struggle to beat Everton when they play there and question Everton's efforts against City after that game too. with the icing on the cake when we beat Everton on the final day to finish above Liverpool (and hopefully City).

the way things stand we have to match or better City's results putting as much pressure on Liverpool to mean we both pull away from Liverpool, then City slip up too

We can overtake City by beating them at the Etihad. Liverpool are wobbling a bit and seeing City go top would add to the pressure they're under. I want City to win for now, we've got to reel Liverpool in and it would help.

I can't believe people would rather Man City win tonight. We are in the mix the more points those around us drop the better surely

so you think Liverpool being 3pts a head of City with a game in hand will add pressure? the more pressure on Liverpool meaning they have to win, means while having weaknesses due to injuries in defence could benefit us providing we match Man C results. the more pressure Liverpool have the more slip ups, and once both clubs get the chance to go past we then have to hope for a couple of fluky results against City

We're in a title race and we want one of our rivals to win? Come on guys.
If we win every game, we finish above City. We need Liverpool to drop points and a City win will pile on the pressure and increase the chance of that happening.

With Liverpool due to play at Old Trafford in 2 league games time I really don't think Man City getting maximum points will change anything drastically.

Each to their own but I'd prefer to see as many dropped points around us as possible

3 points separate Pool and City. I don't think City winning puts any more pressure on them. 3 points is close enough to shake them.

we can't rely on just their tough matches as I think they have the least amount to play, only Man U away. if they need to beat Bournemouth and then Man U and every team they play they will struggle. if they were to beat Bournemouth after a City lose they will be 6pts a head and 8 ahead of us meaning we have to win, and then it becomes continuous.

teams when they have little pressure play more freely, just like teams that turn in results the minute they are relegated.

if City lose then that's 1 less game that Liverpool will have any pressure on them, City win and Liverpool will have to win to go back a head, and pressure equals mistakes

Simple as that eh?

The more points our rivals drop the better. Nothing else makes sense to me.

Inject this first paragraph into my veins, I want to see him fall apart.

If City win, Liverpool are suddenly 2nd on goal difference. It will have an affect IMO.

We need both Liverpool and City to drop points. I'd prefer a City draw today.

I dont know tbh but i think id much rather city break pool and us sneak through along side them only to watch them tire at the finish line! I rate our chances of winning a pl at far less than pool or city due to citys squad quality and pools easier fixtures compared to ours. But if we get the dippers falling at the wey side then we can look to chase doen city whilst they compete in 4 comps.
No way i EVER want liverpool to win the league so this is the safer choice to opt for imo.

Each to their own mate, I'd still prefer to see City drop a star many points as possible as I feel it gives us a greater chance if there's one ahead of us instead of the two of them

After watching City tonight, I think we have a realistic chance at the title. If we can avoid losing the two games against City and Liverpool, I can see us taking more points than them from the rest of the games.

Not sure I'm too confident of us not losing against them, though...

Have you seen us recently? Sure we’ve shown balls to get the wins we’ve had, but we aren’t exactly pulling up any trees!

Not saying we can’t do it, although I’d be amazed if we did, but based on our performances of late I’m not so sure anyone can be confident of us taking more points than them two. We’ve got the harder run in haven’t we?

Yes, we’ve looked sluggish. But we have shown character and mental strength, by pulling wins out of our hats even when playing bad. In a month we have Kane and Alli back, which will give us a hige boost.

I’m not saying we are favorites, but we have a good chance.

I didnt watch city but we are hardly playing great football... the teams that win the league are the teams that pull the rabbit out of the hat - we have done that in the last three games...
