Poch clearly wanted to strengthen the squad. You can’t help but think yet again Levy has failed to deliver for him.

I guess we will find out in the summer whether or not Poch is pissed off. And if he is pissed off, how pissed off he is. He said he wanted to sign players but we couldn’t.

Ah well. I dunno. Poch seems to say all the right things publicly but I’d love to know what he thinks privately. I genuinely do feel Levy is unable to take us up a level and deliver what Poch needs.

Huge summer coming up for the board and Levy because he certainly is not being backed over the last 12 months.
Obviously you would think that if that's what you already think (or want to think).

"He said he wanted to sign players but we couldn't" - Rabiot, Pulisic and de Jong allegedly all turned us down and that's just part of the game. It doesn't have to be anyone's fault (unless, again, you've already decided it is).

Given the multiple levels Levy has taken us up so far, he's plenty of credit left with me yet.

I'd not heard of confirmation bias until recently, but your first sentence kind of sums it up (I think).

Poch may well have been alluding to it in his "enough is enough" speech/rant.

He was talking to the press but he wants fans to listen too.

That's listen carefully and "stop twisting my answers" to somehow mean something that he didn't actually mean.

Today you could hear his passion for Tottenham, the squad he works with and football in general. In a Spanish language interview I also heard him say that Liverpool buy what they need but 'we' operate differently, and our biggest disadvantage has been not playing at home.

Oh, and he doesn't like losing Cup games cos it's bad for his CV...

Lots of opinions on here and certainly on twitter etc are put out by? who knows what age ? it could be a six year old or a sixty year old who knows ? and most importantly are they spurs supporters or supporters of other clubs Who knows? That is why I just take no notice of some views because it is the Harry Hotspur syndrome take a pot at Levy ; Enic : Lewis ; The club as a whole whilst all the time being an Arsenal or Chelsea or West Ham or whoever fan certainly not a true spurs fan.
True fan finding fault you can usually see something in their complaint and it leads to sensible discussion even tho you may disagree.
The Harry Hotspur syndrome person who complains is full of bile and not a good word to say about the club.
So you can find fault with the the club/Levy/Enic/Lewis and still be a fan.
If all you come out with is bile I doubt you are a real spur.

Actually watched the presser after reading the transcript. Could tell in his tone of voice he was annoyed at the media for always twisting his words etc. He was disappointed at not being able to add the squad, nothing more than that. He is happy with the current playing squad, believes in them and so am I. Also is giving Janssen another shot. Hopefully he can do a Sissoko.

He was definitely passionate in that presser today, especially at the end. I'm with him all the way.

In Poch we trust.

Totally agree.

He's fed up of them sensationalising everything. He wants to win things, he wants to sign players, but he's not going to cry about it, or jump ship either.

As he has said all along, be realistic and have faith. He wants to make us succeed here. Hopefully he can use this media bollocks as a motivator to that end...

There’s a lot in this imo. There isn’t one type of fan - we are all ages and backgrounds. I would hazard a guess that the people on here that I share views with probably have a similar “Spurs life” to me. That doesn’t invalidate opposing points of view at all.

I think there are posters who are dead set in their ways and will never change regardless of what’s presented. The rest of us can hopefully do our best to accept all the middle grounders, and even in argument still be polite and open to debate.

I think it’s pretty obvious who the “dead set” guys are. So rather than use forum space debating them I reckon it’s better chatting with the folks who can present a decent case themselves, and like you say not just be toxic. In the same breath, what’s the benefit of being toxic about toxic people?

But back to Poch...

How exactly are these quotes taken out of context @tooey

"I am so happy to try to help the project of the club," Pochettino told a news conference before the visit of Newcastle. "But, of course, my ideas are not always the same as the club's ideas, or the chairman's ideas.
"I wanted to strengthen the squad but, if we cannot sign anyone, I need to stick with the pressure of the club.
"I am disappointed because we are in a very good position and maybe, with a little more help, we could not have an excuse not to be a real contender. But we are in a very good position and we will fight until the end to be as high as we can."

Read it again. I AM DISAPPOINTED. Pochs own words “I am disappointed. I wanted to strengthen. My ideas aren’t always the same as the chairman’s.”

Yet Levy’s fans on here still refuse to accept that Levy is at fault. It’s amazing to witness. Poch couldn’t be any clearer. He’s clearly frustrated the club are not signing players he wants and needs to help what he feels is a realistic chance of winning the PL.

If people need help explaining what this means, it isn’t good news. It means Poch does not feel he is being properly backed. As fans we should all be concerned that Levy is not backing Poch sufficiently.

you do know that he is very disappointed, and does feel he wanted to strengthen, but he also said we couldn't sign them. now that might be one of 4 reasons

1, The players he wanted wasn't available, because the selling club wouldn't sell, or the player didn't want to join.

2, the players he wanted were too expensive and meant he couldn't sign more than 1, but it would of hit his summer budget.

3, he couldn't sign them because our squad is full, and the HG quota needs to go up by 1, or he would of had to omit someone already in the CL squad, because we wouldn't of had a place

4, or it could of been Levy, which is the only choice you would choose even if Poch came out and told you that the players that he wanted weren't available

plenty of ITK's have said, it was Poch that decided not to buy, but you only have 1 view
