Chances of prices falling in the summer are nil. City will be re-stocking after they lose the title, PSG will go again when they don’t win the CL. When your wealth gushes out of the ground there are no limits to how you spend it. No doubt you will be here again in the summer defending our next bout of inactivity, pointing to the ITK saying Poch is happy with kids in nappies. Not picking on you, it’s just you are the first of the BSoDL to post and I’m just stunned by how gullible and passive you all are.
I respect your view on transfer prices. I posted more in hope than expectation.

God forbid I actually listen to the itk which, btw, fits with the public evidence we have. What a highly irrational thing to do.

FWIW, and you can quote me on this, we need investment in the summer and I would expect that to happen.

What's done is done (or should that be not done?) with these past two transfer windows. All I really hope is that we line up our summer targets early and do all our business as soon as possible after the window opens - like Liverpool did ahead of this season. Next season could be really something special at the new stadium if we do our business early and bring in some exciting talent. FYI the optimistic rating is 7th from the left.

Fair enough. I expect more of the same in the summer. Very happy to be proved wrong and will join the BSoDL if I am. I think there will be a lot more angry people in this forum in the summer when the next set of excuses is rolled out but I guess we will just have to wait and see.

Bon weekend. COYS

If you read my comment personally I am not bothered that we didn't make a signing in January. My gripe is with the leaks from the club putting it all on Poch. As I said he was optimistic and then a few days later not optimistic. Make of it what you will, but don't blame Poch for our inability to strengthen our squad.

I'm not blaming anyone, it never helped that we couldn't sign players in the summer or winter because of the size of the squad and lack of HG

With 86 points, we'd have won the league in only 4 out of the past 19 seasons (21%), and an additional 4 in the previous 7 seasons (57%).

That suggests the benchmark has become considerably higher over time, and that shows no sign of wani

I wouldn't say the benchmark is considerably higher (yet). The 5 year average points total over the past 15 years is

89 (2013 -2018)
87 (2009-2013)
90 (2003-2009)

I think there's also more behind the higher points total that shouldn't be forgotten.

City aside, because that was just a record breaking season. The year Conte won the PL they had no European football, I remember them having full weeks rest between games. Pool this year out, early in the league and FA cup and virtually no injuries.

I'm looking forward to the next stage of Teflon's carefully crafted PR narrative myself, almost more than signing someone.

Why? You've come into the ITK thread to say this, yet pretty much every ITK has stated over the last 2 days that the lack of signings is 100% because of Poch.

Sometimes on this site & this section of it in particular, I find myself, escpecially after trying to catch up by reading 3 or 4 pages in a row that I wind up turning into Ralph Wiggam. Thanks for that, you ****'s

"And with sponsorship being activated, will trigger those funds. "

Sounds like the sponsor for the stadium is already in place.

Edit - I know it's been rumoured for a while, and a lot of us have already guessed who it is.

Although would they agree to release the funds if there name still isn't on the thing? I'd put my neck out and say no funds received for the sponsorship until it is officially the N**e Stadium London....

Poch is not going anywhere. He is content and fiercely ambitious to succeeed with us. The spin is, we expected to of been in the NWHL. And our transfer plans was around that. As there would be external finances bought in, which would satisfy the balance sheets etc. Unfortunately, we have been frustrated, which puts restrictions on the way we want to operate, inclusive of wages.

That being said, funds were available. And a decent amount at that, but Poch did not like the subjects offered. A couple of them I disagree with his stance. But he has earned that right. Nobody is going to mention what the budget is. But there will be a good amount. Take it into mind 2 windows has passed and we have not spent, though funds were available.

I am told, and agree we have heard that before. But new stadium releases more immediate funds to add to the kitty. And with sponsorship being activated, will trigger those funds. I again see optimistic ratings coming. Personally, I think as a corporate company, and for the very least PR, we should of bought in at the very least, one player. Or announced a signing agreed for the summer. This will test the metal of Poch, more than our Daniel. Poch knows the score. I expect couple of senior players to be moved on.

VJ’s situation, we got cocked about a lot from clubs who proposed to buy him outright, and play us off until it was too late. Daniel should of taken a loan. But told that it wasn’t that straight forward.
Thanks Herc. Feel real positive about this. Hope this does not cross the line in terms of itk question but interested in the following: If we had,for example, budgeted for say 100m for each of the last 2windows- does it carry forward and get added to next summer so we'd end up with an even bigger amount to play with eg 300m? Just interested if we have an ever growing war chest. No worries if you can't or don't want to say. Cheers!

Absurd suggestion. Never in a millions years could this be true. Far more likely is that the stingy bald dwarf is sat on more money than Greece owes the ECB and has a letter from Lionel Messi saying it's his dream to play for Spurs because he really wants to try Chick-King before he retires, and he'd play for next to nothing in wages, but Levy is too busy embezzling the money away to pay for property development. Yes, that's far closer to the truth.
I rated this post Funny because it was satire on the level of Chris Morris or Armando Ianucci at their very best. Bravo, sir, bravo!

EDIT - following @Spurrific's puling his punches with the opening qualifier to his post below, I'd just like to say that I was totally singling out BBLG as the target of my devastating ability to put someone on blast. Shame on you, to be honest, @Spurrific, shame on you.

@Archibald&Crooks broke me. he sodomized me with a barbed wire laced baseball bat and when he was as deep as he could get, he twisted :(

Not meaning to single you out, BBlG - but as a community, can we not do better than this sort of gag?

It wasn’t funny the first million times, each iteration just gets less funny than the last. We’re all adults (even @THFCSPURS19 now), let’s move on from it lads.

I can only imagine after two successive windows where things aren't matching up, that... lessons have been learned.

Fully expecting a lot of ins and outs in the summer, so I'm also trying to prepare myself for a slow start to the season before all those pieces start to gel and bed in to PL.

Now that the Jan TW has gone by, I hope that the club starts talking to other clubs soon, on potential incomings so that the necessary paperwork can be done as soon as the summer TW is opened and our new signings are able to have a full pre-season with us.

Beware of unintended consequences! This forum is a useful pressure relief valve for those with ‘unusual’ thoughts, and I’m sure it’s monitored by the relevant authorities. Interventions can be staged where necessary, but not if people are forced ‘underground’. Care in the community must extend online, after all.

At least, that’s what lily-liveried liberals would tell you. Me, I say burn the deviant...

How can anyone defend Levy unless they know the identity of the players Poch turned down?

I doubt Poch turned down any of the names we've been discussing as good additions.
