Teams on a title tilt, don't throw a cat amongst the pigeons by signing players in Jan if they can help it. Both City and Liverpool have issues in their squads and neither went in an fixed them now. Better the devil you know.

I love how most journalists, the manager and ITK are all saying the chairman was happy to spend money on the right player but the fact we dudn’t sign anyone is still Levy’s fault. Never change SC. Never change.
TBF, one transfer window where the spin favours Levy doesn't rinse away the previous fifty where we had more than enough tales of woe where Levy and transfers is concerned. And during those times, even then, according to some he was never at fault, so I think people are entitled to be a little entrenched.

There's not going to be much sympathy for your point of view when over the last ten years all people have had from certain quarters is an unquestioning defence of Levy against absolutely every criticism.

Never change BSoDL, never change :D

I don't feel like Levy has been too heavily criticised over this window anyway, I also don't think there has been too much of a meltdown either, think people had more fun with the entire situation and back Poch with his decisions.

I am astounded that people think that Levy does not want to win the PL. 3rd position and keeping the pressure on indicates (to me) that we are continuing to progress in a planned way.

This all reminds me that I need to get my tattoo re-inked as it was starting to fade.

In the spirit of being active rather than passive, what action have you taken other than complaining on a forum?
I’ve hired a private detective to follow Levy and I now have the incriminating pictures of him with A&C, if he doesn’t spend next window the pictures are going on Twitter to be seen by my zero followers.

What are you doing ? ?

I don't understand why people have to be branded as something if they can see both sides of the argument, I mean you only have to utter either a mild amount of positive or snide praise at Levy and people seem to jump off the deep end depending which button they are wearing. I've been guilty of it and try to take the time to read both sets of views, I've even learnt some stuff in the last year.

It's a shame that it always comes down to this.

We're all supposed fans of this club but sometimes I do wonder. Any chance for a dick measuring contest.

Let's be clear - we are comfortably 3rd because Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United have woefully and abysmally under-performed.

We have lost 25% of our games - a higher percentage than anyone else in the top 6.

We are one defeat away from equaling our total from last season, we've already accumulated 50% more defeats than we had in the season before that, have already equaled the total from the season before that, and we have already surpassed the cumulative number of defeats suffered by the team who finished 4th last season.

I accept that we are on course to equal our best-ever points haul of 86, however that only took us to 2nd place, two seasons ago. This season it should just about see us in to 3rd. That should be proof enough, if it were needed, that standing still while others progress is a sure fire way to go backwards.

We've done incredibly well to keep up with the top two thus far, but we're in no danger of overtaking them, and if the three teams immediately below us were playing as they should be, we'd be comfortably top 6, not comfortably top 3.

I can't help feeling that we're at a very real risk of plateau and stagnation here - we're showing no signs of doing any better in the league this season than we did two years ago, and for all the talk of Wembley and stadiums, you can't help but feel that lack of squad investment must be the reason for that. Liverpool and Manchester City have come on leaps and bounds since then, and that's because of squad investment.

While we won't match Liverpool and City in terms of financial clout any season soon, being unable to spend £100M every window cannot be considered a legitimate reason or excuse for spending zero in two windows on the bounce.

And despite losing 6 games we're only 2 points off 2nd and 7 behind pool and it's still our best start to a PL season. The year we finished 2nd (86 points) that would have been enough to win the league the season Leicester did it and we're on course to beat that total.

Saying we are where we are because other teams aren't doing well is lazy and or current points total shows that, had we less points but still be in 3rd I'd agree with you

I'm not quite sure why there is a lot more noise that it was Poch who didn't want to spend money this window? I am sure I heard him say that the was open to improving the squad and he was optimistic last week that there would be additions? But over the last few days we are being told money was there but Poch said no. As I read it, he wasn't keen on those offered to him but somehow it's on Poch and it's his fault if we screw up the rest of the season.

I didn't expect a signing in January and not so fussed about it to be honest and not a fan of signings for the sake of it, but the club royally fucked up in the summer and now they are putting pressure on Poch with all these leaks it is totally out of order.

I wonder how much of a bonus Levy will give himself for his performance over the last year.

have you thought that especially with it being the January window that the players he actually thought would improve us weren't available/for sale?

Absurd suggestion. Never in a millions years could this be true. Far more likely is that the stingy bald dwarf is sat on more money than Greece owes the ECB and has a letter from Lionel Messi saying it's his dream to play for Spurs because he really wants to try Chick-King before he retires, and he'd play for next to nothing in wages, but Levy is too busy embezzling the money away to pay for property development. Yes, that's far closer to the truth.

Lately I've been on the fence with him myself. One minute we're being told how his twattish ways with transfers are pissing off Pochettino to the point where he'll walk, the next it's all how Levy is desperate to spend and it's Pochettino who is stalling on deals.

I'm surprised how this hasn't really been picked up on, it's about a massive deviation as you could get so the salt really does need applying to this aspect of things even more than would usually be the case. I wouldn't be running around shouting "see? see? It isn't Levy" because actually what we're hearing doesn't count for much for no other reason than the same people who were putting stories of Poch's discontent down as bollocks have a bit if a cheek trumpeting a reversal of roles now just because it suits.

Plus if true none of us know what he was willing to spend money on, There was no ITK on actual names so how can we judge. There's backing the manager and there's backing the manager and you can't ignore the history of seeing how former managers were backed.

I don't think this is the window where Levy needs dissecting however nor are transfers the major concern with the club right now.

Redknapp also went through a phase of saying..."He wants to spend, it's me that doesn't want to spend £30m on one player."

Something is up.

Very up.

Then, as cliche as it is, we'll have to wait until the end of the season/beginning of the summer.
