I'm not bothered that we haven't bought a player just to keep fans happy. I am more bothered that we wasted so much money buying players like Llorente, N'Jie, Nkoudou, Janssen, Aurier, Wimmer, Fazio, Yedlin a combined total of £93million. I know when you sign a player its a huge gamble on whether they will be able to perform as required, but I actually believe we are only one big quality £50m plus player away from being a complete team. I personally think if we can get Isco rumoured a few days back and/or TImo Werner another rumoured target this will solve a few problems. TW will pick up Kane and Sons Slack and Isco will potentially fill the expected empty shoes left behind by Eriksen (who on view of last night cant even take a corner properly at the moment!

Of those 8 players, 4 are still on our roster.

Of the 4 who have left, we've made a net profit of around £5.5M, even taking into account the loss we made on N'Jie. That doesn't include the respective loan fees we've received for those players which would take that net profit closer to £10M.

We also received a loan fee of £2.25M for Janssen's spell at Fenerbahce, and there's very little basis for claiming we over-paid for Aurier.

If you're interested, we also broke even or made profit on Paulinho, Stambouli, Capoue, Dempsey, Sigurdsson, Lennon, Fryers and others during that period.

I agree that we need to make a couple of big signings if we're to compete for anything, but players like N'Jie and Wimmer who arrived 4 years ago, and players like Fazio and Yedlin who arrived 5 years ago, are hardly the biggest stumbling block to that.

@Archibald&Crooks what are the rules on member abuse today? Because I want to insult Freeeki for calling it a roster.

That's a bit silly if true. What if Llorente gets broken? Son can play up front but I still think it's risky.
A little bit of adjustment and Moura? As it happens I'd like to see this heavily rotating attack with this false 9 for a trial instead of just having to use Llorente. We are not down to the bare bones and do have a few options still.

The sterling loan is a little strange because Poch has in the past said he prefers players he believes will make it stay and train with the club? maybe he has relaxed on that or he doesn't rate Sterling.

I think it’s pretty clear he doesn’t. At Fulham we were desperate for a goal and he never brought him on.

Only got 5 mins in the Cup when we were useless, too.

Its been the same thing all season/window for me. The outs are more important than the ins. We just want to avoid a repeat of last summer more than anything. That involves getting rid of our most unwanted now. Just a shame we can't get anyone to take them on a permanent deal.

We’ll be in the same exact place we are now come August trying to get rid of them. So honestly, its pointless
