What's new

It's so depressing being a Spurs fan...

IMHO There is nothing to discuss. A lot of fans are too soft and need to toughen up a little. We are not in the position to be winning titles or cups yet, for multiple reasons. Too many expectations are being put on our team/club due to the fact that we have over achieved for the good part of 4 years now. We are not ready to take that next step into the elite bracket of clubs. We will be in 3-5 years, but we simply aren't now.

Either you can face that reality and enjoy the slow but sustainable progression of our club or f*** off and support another team. Simples.

(Not aimed at you, just the general bitching and moaning that goes on these days.)

I get what your saying but the key word there is slow it just seems to drag on and if as they do players come and go we always seem to be playing catch up never actually arrive do we that's the most frustrating thing I think.

Threads like this either give us a chance to wallow in the pit of misery or search for the positives.

If anyone needs me this morning I’m in the pit.

The only thing I'm pissed about is the ridiculous slow starts we been doing lately. If we tired rotate some youngsters in.

Spot on .

Too many so called fans buying into all the anti spurs media bullshit, yes i would love us to win things, but for the first time for years ,certainly in my lifetime, i can see a clear plan and a pathway that will lead us to better things, can't people see what we are building here both on and off the pitch ffs.

I think it's more the case, when we've been in great positions in recent years we've not capitalised on it. See the Saha&Nelsen window, not buying anyone this year, not getting a pacy forward last year etc. The board acts like we're a business, thinking resources we have are enough to achieve our aims, rather than acting like a football club.

We are third in the league, we were shit for years. I'm gonna guess that maybe it's not spurs that's the problem??

Agree but clubs dont build success anymore they simply buy it quickly and there are very few examples of clubs that arent in the top 4 big spenders ever winning anything since the PL began.
Its very difficult, impossible imo, to dislodge those that splash the cash to the point of winning something.
Since the pl began its been those that spend the most win it 99% of the time. Theres odd examples but they are rare.
Liverpool spent the most in a long while and they are top for the first time in a long while.
The League cup now has money bags 1 and money bags 2 in the final. Its been won by the big rich clubs, bar the odd exception, for decades and its the same with the FA Cup.
Now Man City have money as well as Chelsea, Man United, Liverpool its going to be unlikely we'll ever win anything. Even Arsenal are finding it hard to compete with them now.
I think we are doing the best we can with how the club is run but now we are in this position (top 4, cl football, fantastoc players and a new stadium) now is the time to cement that position and strengthen the squad with real winners. Top draw players and keep those we have.
You saw last night the difference between Rose and Davies. We used to have that up both wings with Walker. Now we dont.
It will be a crime if this squad is watered down so we fade away having achieved nothing but top 4 and we find ourselves mid table in a half filled 62k stadium.
The time to spend big, but wisely, is now or risk losing Toby, Eriksen and even Poch.
Im not saying get in debt and do a Leeds but we are a big club, time we started acting like it.
