So we are in the ITK thread and people are choosing to ignore the things being said by our undisputed No. 1 ITK because it doesnt suit their rhetoric.
They also choose to ignore what Poch himself is saying because they have decided that he is being let down by DL.
Why not take things at face value and believe in the manager, like he has asked us to do.

So it seems Werner would be 60/70m (60/70% of our budget), very pricey, but how much will we lose out on if we miss out on champions League? Also, we wait till the summer to try and get him cheaper and we have absolutely no chance of getting him ahead of many other clubs looking for a top ST, even less chance if we drop down to Europa League.

I get that we don't want squad fillers, but Werner isn't a squad filler. If he's a player poch really wants, we either pay the premium on him or miss out completely and suffer the consequences

Good news if this is true is at least we can save alot of money by firing our whole scouting network as clearly we dont need them.

Just to confirm, people are now more upset that Werner is a no because of budget when everyone has been screaming for a central mid since the middle of last summer ...

I can't keep up.

The thing is we need a couple of players but the priority is midfield in my opinion thats not to say we should neglect the fact we need some pace. I havent seen much of Werner but do know he has pace which i think we lack.

Lets also not forget we will no doubt need another defender and perhaps a full back in the summer.

One thing is for sure, we need to kick on from where we are at the moment and whilst buying potential is great are we going to wait another two or three years for that potential to be realised? and will the current crop who are realising their potential stay for that long otherwise we end up just beginning the cycle again on an ongoing basis.

Does anyone else think that now we have lost Ali as well as Kane, other clubs are going to think (and probably rightly so) that we are somewhat desperate to buy players and raise all their prices?

Of course. This is why you don't let yourselves get in the position we are in now and plan ahead. Every one saw it coming a mile off.

It’s truely amazing how many people completely ignore what the manager says. It was the same when the Man Utd links were at the strongest. Everyone said he wants out despite he himself saying his future is at THFC.

He’s the mouthpiece of the club and people should listen to him.

I suspect he’s still more frustrated at us not being able to move on the players he doesn’t want at the club. The whole summer we were told we needed to get rid of players before signing new ones, but we’ve failed so far this window to do this. Again, the manager has said the same thing (in relation to the champions league squad) but it’s been ignored.

Thats a problem with social media and the press. People read things and believe it differently because a quote will made out to sound different...for example poch didnt say no to man utd...he said he was happy here, so you get some reporter saying poch is open to the move tobutd cos he didnt deny it! Its all games

JJ’s comments seem to be aligned with everything that we hear from poch and comes from club info,

Say we pay up and buy a 100 million pound player and he is a flop ? Not only have you used up all the budget but you are then stuck with a 100 million pound flop on enormous wages who no one is going to take off your hands. You fack up both the transfer budget and the salary budget. If we have say 200 million to spend then it might be worth the risk but it is plain stupid to put all your eggs in one basket no ?
However, look at Morata - Chelsea are about to make ALL of their money back if you include the loan fee.

I feel like that is the key thing. The priority is midfield. So as much as we want Werner and he would strengthen us for sure (I feel) we need to prioritise other options and go for them.

It's a little bit risky, but that's how a lot of this is. There's no guarantee of anyone coming in. There's no guarantee of Werner coming in and there's no guarantee that if we go for CM they'd come in. Similarly there's no guarantee any of these players would be good for us... we're just trying to figure out what's the best risk/course of action for us and thinking long term.

It seems with the budget ITK, Werner ITK etc... and with what Poch has said, long term it's best to wait for the right players we truly feel we can get and will better us. So short term we're trusting what we have/our youth.

We're in a worst case scenario situation with Kane, Alli and Sissoko injured whilst Son is away on international duties. We've just not been lucky there. Whilst this has a potential to be a rough patch that surely shouldn't mean we change all our plans now? I mean look at how far it's gotten us.

I feel that's more an exception rather than the rule. I mean Chelsea are more an exception rather than the rule in general are they not?

So we are still after De Jong even though he has just agreed to sign for Barca?

If Werner blows 70-80% of the budget, it is clear the budget is way too low...
For a January Window ?
How much would you suggest the budget should be if you are not going to worry about how it is funded ? This is all starting to get rather silly.

Because it would make 90% of their post moaning about everything, mean them being wrong. We all post our opinions and no one likes to be wrong, but the extreme attacks on our dear leader/owners, and them being wrong is a no no.

I’ll stick with our ITK’s and add salt where needed, and enjoy the ride
