Read thr article. Genuinely don't see the problem he's praising his manager saying how incredible he is and it's not a surprise to see him linked with the big boys but we want him here for the future. The no funds things been twisted he said "
It’s no secret all the teams have spent a lot more than what we have. The belief he gives everybody is just amazing.”
Rose said: “The manager did not made any signings in the summer and he is probably not going to make any signings in January.
“Well, I’ve not heard anything, so I am guessing that will be the case. So for him to do what he has done and what he is doing now speaks volumes of him.

Nothing wrong with what Danny said. He’s just praising his manager that he can get improvement without having to spend the money the other top managers spend.

Whilst he hasnt said anything most of us arent thinking I do think he needs to shut up simply because he always says one or two things that is misconstrued and twisted - doesnt need that

can someone get Danny Rose some media training, quickly please

He’s a liability. Needs to shut his mouth. He’s a good player but becoming far too much hassle.

Hytner, who is a gooner, has written this article so he was always going to put a mischievous spin on it. Others will now follow suit.

Agreed media created a shit storm out of nothing, but anyone with half a brain could see that is exactly what they would inevitably do.

Some in the media have integrity while most do not. Reminds of that time under AVB where he said after a particularly bad result, WE have to do better and take responsibility and Neil Ashton (who else?) framed it as AVB blames his players.
Rose needs to be a bit smarter

This is bollocks, he gives the media exactly what they want and they use him.

Read what he said again and don't just try and pull selective out of context quotes from it. I don't care what the sun will spin it as.

Danny Rose: Mauricio Pochettino unlikely to be given funds by Tottenham for January signings

https://inews.co.uk/sport/football/...cio-pochettino-daniel-levy-budget-danny-rose/

I see Spurs have a new mouthpiece!

How many times does he have to do this before he'll realise there's a reason players just stick to the script for fuck sake. It's also just a stupid comment anyway because I highly doubt Poch and Levy run things by Danny Rose before they make any transfer decisions so I don't see how him being unaware of any new signings is an indication of anything.

Yeah but you're missing the point. It's not about whether what he's actually said is that bad, it's about whether what he's said is exactly the sort of thing they're trying to coax him into saying so they can manipulate it into a story.

The media are notorious for twisting whatever you say into a story and given that he's had multiple instances where he's had his fingers burned by them over the past couple of years there comes a point where he needs to learn to learn his lesson. WHen it's a kid who's not used to talking to the media you can understand how they get tricked into saying something that the papers can manipulate, but Rose is an experienced international player who, like I say, has already been in trouble multiple times over talking out of school so the club's PR team/press officers must be tearing their hair out that he still doesn't know when to stop talking.

Plus as I said in my other post, I don't really get why he seems to think that him not being kept up-to-date with our dealings is any indication of anything in the first place.

On your last sentence which is where the media have twisted from reads as to me as a genuine opinion from Rose and nothing more just twisting it to create a headline to get views and people talking which has worked! Anyone with any sense can read that article and see it's twisted

But my point isn't that his words haven't been twisted, obviously they have. My point is that he should know better by now than to give them ammunition that they can twist in the first place. You say "anyone with any sense can read that article and see it's twisted" but again that just proves my point because Danny should have the sense to know that when he says things like that it'll inevitably get twisted.

Is it refreshing to hear Danny Rose speak honestly to the media? yes definitely. But is it beneficial for the business that employs him? Almost certainly not.

In the real world, if one of us posted our employers professional shortcomings on social media we would be fired on the spot.

If all footballers were as frank in the media as Danny Rose, the sport would be a fucking shit show. Do we really want to live in a world where the fourth wall is deconstructed by all your favourite players? It would take the fantasy and myths out of football, which if we are honest, is why we are all here on this forum.

He actually answers questions truthfully/honestly. Far more interesting than any "media trained" shite.

And since when was the truth and honesty the best way when talking to the media? So if Kane was reported injured and didn't play for a couple games and Rose came out and said "he's not injured he has thrown his toys out of the pram because we turned down a bid from Madrid for him" that would be better because it's truthfully and honest and therefore interesting?

Absolute nonsense.

Yes it's more interesting but there's a good reason why players usually only answer using "media trained shite" as you put it. It's not his job to give the papers interesting gossip.

Poch is not staying or leaving based on anything Danny Rose says in an interview.

Rose says what is on his mind, with no filters. Its neither good, nor bad, it just is who he is. He does not stir up trouble, he simply tells people if trouble exists in his orbit.

Personally, I don't have a problem with Rose's comments here - though I can understand why people might be a bit jittery. Rose is not pushing Poch out the door, nor suggesting that Poch will leave, nor suggesting that anyone at the club want him to leave. Rose just gives an honest assessment - that most players go through in their career, which is to reach the highest level they can in their career.

How about....I love pooch, I don't want him to leave, I think he is doing such a great job he should be given the freedom of Tottenham!
