We could do with a fully fit, in form, Wanyama. He must be looking at DMF thinking this spot is mine if I can get my form back. Sadly, he’s looking off the pace too.

Theres a common theme across sport, especially in rugby. If you bulk up / get heavier you generally lose a percentage of your mobility. Not necessarily top speed but agility certainly. Kane & Dier both look broader and heavier set ion my opinion. Whilst they haven't bulked up to silly proportions, I wonder if any of that impacts their all round game.

There’s also just a natural filling out when you get older. Same with dele as well. Remember we first saw all these players from late teens early twenties. They’ve basically just become men since then.

From @SpursStatMan

Eric Dier has been dribbled past more times (9) than any other #thfc player in the Premier League this season.

What constitutes a dribble?! Ball at feet? Running with it?

I'm sure there s as many players had the ball passed by them. Given his role.in the team he is bound to be chasing / closing down said dribblers, so it stands to reason his stats would be high? Or is it just when it is 1 on 1 or what?

I'm guessing it has to do with a losing "challenges". When looking at dribblers, don't you look at successful take-ons?

Not a surprise there is it. Just by watching Spurs play you can see the guy has zero mobility and is easy to play around.

We really need a serious upgrade in both CM spots.

Yes. Would be relegation side level. And nothing forward either. Why Poch treats two such mediocre players as indispensible is a big mystery.
It says more about Poch in my opinion. You can also include the way he handles and uses our full backs especially Walker-Peters into the equation. While he may have taken us to where we are now, I have most of the time questioned his game and player management, but then vilified by most for questioning him. I know I digress but I dont blame Dier, I blame Poch for exposing him by putting him in this position where he has limited ability, at the club's expense of course

I'm pretty sure that's more down to the fact that Dier presses more than anyone and over-commits himself at times. There's been multiple occasions where I'll be watching the game being played in the opposition's third and suddenly, without any warning or need whatsoever, Eric will sprint into the picture and run straight past the opposition player, presumably vanishing in to the sunset.

Starting to really concern me in possession. Sideways pass after sideways pass and doesn’t help our play progress. Not every pass can be forwards but there has to be more ambition and less fear when with the ball at his feet and he has to show more.
