We are going to buy him though. Bruce has admitted he’s for sale. He wants to come. We’ve got bugger all else coming in to keep poch and the fans from being grumpy.

I’ll pledge £20 if we don’t get him.

We're hearing they're £40m short of FFP requirements. If they get £25m for Grealish will they even be able to make it? It's not like there are a lot of other assets at the club.

Oh I get it. FFP is for rich clubs to stay rich and the poor clubs to get fucked over. Does this game get anymore corrupt. No one now will ever catch the so called top european teams. Everything seems to benefit them

James Nursey is probably best Villa based Journo...His article now.

Gutted Jack Grealish vows to run down Aston Villa contract after being denied Tottenham transfer
New owners have upset their star man by over-ruling predecessor Tony Xia's promise he could go this summer

https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/gutted-jack-grealish-vows-run-13052388

He's under contract until 2020. Next summer, Villa will have a Championship player with 1 year left on his current deal. They can't honestly think that they won this saga? WBA and Peace took a £20m bath to hold on to a player that never really played for them again.

FFP ??? city , Man U, PSG, scoucers . None of these give a fuck and spend what they want. So why should anyone else
Because the rules have changed in the Championship so the possible punishments for breaching the FFP regulations now include points deductions or exclusions from automatic promotion or the play-offs.

Basically if Villa fail the FFP tests they’ll have to spend at least an extra year in the Championship.

probably so. Levy will pay more for Grealish than he wants to and sell Toby for less than he wants. Dont see that he has much choice unless another CM falls in his lap.

If we're honest, even with Levy negotiating, if Jack holds to this promise they'll never probably get a better value than whatever we go back with tomorrow.

I also think they're being incredibly unfair to the lad too. He's Villa through and through and is therefore no mercenary but wants to move on and better himself. I understand the new owners wanting more money but saying no way no matter what for the rest of his contract is ridiculous

I really rate him and think under Poche's guidance he'll be in the England squad in a matter of months, this lad is the business imo.

Praying hands he signs but i don't feel confident at all in this being done. Never wanted to be more wrong.

Even as a Villa fan for life, if you’ve been offered double wages, Championship to champions league, and a shot at an England cap if a particular bid comes in and that bid comes in and you are prevented from going, you will be pretty salty.

This is my worry. There's no way Levy will not sign someone.

Having seen the Villa training ground guy enough times, I'm still amazed at him thinking Steve Bruce could get Villa to match Grealish's ambitions. Grealish wants to play Premier League and Champions League footy, not a promotion fight and then if promoted a relegation fight.

It's our own fault. We dragged it out to a point where Villa got themselves new billionaire owners.

If they thought they were about to sell the club, there is no way they’d sell Grealish first. The new owner is going to want to make that call. And Bruce has acknowledged that he was for sale as revelry as this week. Grealish would be right to have no trust in the club going forward.

You may very well be right and believe the Onomah and £3m bid etc but Villa have never officially said they've received a bid from us or anyone.

The only pukka stuff we have is from Bruce who said along the lines that Grealish is only human and we have to think of that and playing Champions League etc is a draw and we'll do well rto hang on to him.

His brother is probably just covering Jack to be fair - probably knows he isn't going to get his move and doesn't want any papers painting him in a bad light.
