So Herc is saying Palace would only deal for Zaha if we send them players in return. Grey Fox is saying there's not much interest in the players we want to sell. Simple solution would be to offer Llorente, Sissoko and N'Koudou for Zaha and £. We get one of Poch's top targets and free up space for more incomings. Simple innit.

Simple indeed....if you totally ignore the possibility that some of our players may not wish to go to Palace.

Totally ignoring the possibility that Palace may indeed not want the players you mention.

What about differing valuations concerning Zaha in the first instance.

Mmmm...yeah, tis' quite simple when I ignore the aforementioned.

Maybe the Club can’t compete with the top four in relation to finances, but it’s pathetic and there’s no excuse when they struggle to complete a signing of a championship player. Levy up to his usual tricks.

Villa have been in the middle of a takeover. They wouldn't sell a major asset while that was going on.

Ok I’ll bite, why not ?

The stadium build.

A bit tad contradictory, don't you think old chap?
There's absolutely no way we'll win the league or the CL by just keeping the current squad together with a swap around of squad players, it just won't happen. So, a so called marquee player, or two, is required.

There will be no so called Marquee signings , remember Poch's words from last May , “We need to think that our reality is different, because we are not this type of club that will invest crazy money.”
Our record signing Davidson Sanchez , how many people had ever heard of him before he signed, probably be more of the same with future signings.
As for Zaha not sure he has the work ethic that Poch will look for in a player, personally would like Grealish, young, lots of potential

Obviously didn't think of England as home if he chose another country to play for internationally. More to the point if he is that good why did Man U choose to get rid.

Because Fergie recommended him, and Moyes played him twice before getting rid of him.

Whose opinion do you trust more?

He was cut out of the loop. Probably because our dear leader, Warwick Davis, was told of the lynch mob forming on SC and got these two announcements out on the hurry up in an attempt to quieten the seething mob.

I had heard he has gone into hiding until more donations to the site has been made... then will make us aware of announcements for us next week!

Doesn’t fit in with the itk’s saying Zaha is the player he wants?

I'm still staying albeit waveringly, optimistic.

Zaha if the price makes sense would be an absolute beast under Poch's tutelage IMO

He invests in what he knows. Happy to find an extra £400-£500m for the stadium, but not happy to see success on the football pitch (zero net spend, again?).

(We finished 23 points behind City).

if you honestly think that either Martial, or Zaha are the players that would gain that back you are totally deluded.

they both play in the same position Son plays, and neither of them have had a season of scoring at least 18 goals in it. I very much doubt either would be up for rotation either.

if Spurs as a club believe Zaha is worth 55m, that most probably includes Poch, and even if DL promised to back him, I'm sure Poch knows that 15m over the top is suicide not backing.

at the start of the window we had positive news, that we had 150m to spend (not net unless you haven't seen all ITK post), if our main targets have been impossible due to a large increase in value, we have to move on to plan B, but if plan B are not available we are then heading for players that won't improve us. we need a player to replace Toby, if that's not going to be de Ligt, then hopefully we can get Pavard or whoever Poch suggests, or just drop Dier back.

it was mentioned the other day that we need to get rid of players to keep the squad sensible size, and that there is money available. surely we should wait till the windows closed before going OTT.

Martial and Pulisic being the other two? Agree with Tiger, for once, in that Lucas could still be anything- let's hope he is something. None of these three would go for less than 60m in this market, hence I think all this Levy must be brave stuff. Hardly his MO is it.

The scouts need to find the next Kante.
I’ve sort of discounted Martial due to the itk but yes Pulisic is another one we’ve been linked to. I must admit I struggle to see us buying from most premier league or top European sides as they know the current market and we don’t look willing to pay it

Sorry but most premier league clubs do they same as what we do...mahrez went to city for £60m so i fail to see how us valuing zaha at £50m is not knowing the market!

hertyid: This has been repeated over and over. We need to shift deadwood. We need to sign HG. These are the priorities. There will be plenty of money spent.
&
Poch didn’t sign a new contract on the basis that Levy spend £115m on Richarlison and Zaha.

HG= home grown

No I’m saying selling clubs know the market and what they can now ask for. I think Palace can justifiably ask for £65/70m as he’s so important to them but we obviously value him at a lower amount.
Tbh I think Leicester undervalued Mahrez

the Villa take over will take time, something Villa don't have to meet FFP rules. there is also a chance that Grealish himself might be set on the move now, in hope of 1 day making the international stage

edit: ignore as ive just seen SSN about they have invested
