Here is my take from a very educated opinion.

We have our valuations on Toby, which no buyer has!

We will find it difficult to sell Rose, due to his (should be value), and cost to replace

The lesser players like GKN, we can only realistically do loan deals, or ‘Pound shop’ give away

Llorente is proving difficult beyond a loan, or give away

Gambles in bargain basement has back fired probably, now it comes to shifting them, as even interested parties are wising up

Gamble is we will have to commit to bringing our remaining targets in, and do reluctant loans at best

Market is quiet on the out front, but not in the in front

Something has to give

Monday-Wednesday will say a lot

According to the club (it's been mentioned by one or two ITKers, I believe, on here) the funding for the stadium was not going to affect transfer funds.

how can it not affect the transfer budget ? If you buy a house you have less money to spend than if you live with your parents. I know you have extra revenue and naming rights but there is no way it cant have a impact on spending.

I know this will be unpopular but if it’s down to squad size but not money then just sell the spare parts for “nickels on the dollar” and just create room

Are you saying Sissoko was cheap?

Unfortunately not..... and they makes it even worse :(.

Herc’s info maybe hints at the being brave comment..... i.e. commiting to signings without the assurance of outgoings to balance the books.

It's time to take a gamble and not fanny around looking for late bargains. The likes of Pulisic for example, yeah going to cost a fortune probably but it's the sort of signing we should be looking to do without the bollocks excuse of "it's not sustainable" and if Levy really wants to push Tottenham to the next level he's got to invest more in the squad and stop demanding absurd fee's for our deadwood fringe players.

When you eventually move out of your parents house, you'll realise that it isn't so simple mate. :sneaky:

Besides how many times do ITK have to make that point and echo what Levy has said before we can believe it?

Thanks as always for the ITK today @Hercules / @Trix (y)(y)

Seems like we've arrived at meltdown point on all forms of social media in the past few days regarding transfers.

All i'd like by the end of the window (which is why i'm fairly OK with where we are to date) is to have strengthened in a couple of key areas and to have offloaded some of the dead weight. I'll withhold any ire until then.

People need to realise that it's one thing to identify a key player in an area you need them it's another thing entirely to do the deal.

So many factors mean no deal is easy even though i'm sure we're willing to pay more when all the rationale (value for money, potential, current ability, need in the team) points to yes.

If we can't get a good price for some of the players we want to shift there doesn't seem much point letting them go this week, we may as well wait until the end of the window and then we might get a better fee and if we don't then we ain't lost nuffink have we?

Cannot see why everyone is so bent out of shape with the supposed missing out on Martial.
We may have offered everything MU want and they are just not interested in selling.
Exactly the same as if MU bid on Kane.
Poch will understand all this.
The issue is we are arriving here 20 days from the end of the window. It's the same story as previous windows. We identify top-rated targets that only become non-options last minute. We are then left to take a punt on an unknown or backup option.

The problem isn't that we missed out on these targets, it's that we've left it so late. Surely we must know our chances to get the players. We hurt ourselves window after window by overestimating our ability to get players instead of getting realistic targets in.

100%. It's not that no one wants our cast offs, it's that no one wants our cast offs at our price.

How much is GKN realistically worth in this market? He couldn't get a start at Burnley. So £5m? Llorente at age 33? Let him go on a free. Janssen? Let Fenerbache name their price.

These assets have little to no value.

Some great points..

Although i do disagree with the "where we are as a club" statement.

We are champions league regulars with some the most advanced stadium and training facilities in the country. We finished above, Liverpool, Chelsea & Arsenal and regularly do.

But we are trying to buy players like we did 4/5 years ago which is the problem, thats not where we are as a club anymore, we are a one of the top english clubs yet refuse to act like it in the transfer window.

Where we are as a club is still definitely second tier. We're never catching the likes of Madrid, Barca, Bayern, Utd... they are just too far ahead of us and have been for too long. The training facilities and stadium, regularly being in the CL, finishing above the other second-tier English teams...that isn't going to make us top tier, no matter how much we want it to.

We are making progress, but anyone who thinks that world class players will suddenly see us as a genuine alternative to the biggest clubs in the world is seriously deluding themselves. The only way we'll get them is if the bigger clubs don't. And the only way we'll know if they become available to us is to wait until the big clubs are done shopping for the window. That's why Trix keeps telling us the same thing over and over- because it's the truth.

Mate don't be a dick I have my own house, wife and kids I am an expert on being broke.

its complete crap of course building a 800m + stadium is going to affect finances, in one way or another, I love ITK but lets not be blinkered and stupid enough to believe it wont affect spending,
