Frankly, I don't care how much we spend, and can't understand why people are getting so hung up on the number right now, in May. I'm more concerned with the quality of players we bring in. If we assemble what we need by 'only' spending 150m then so be it. Money spent isn't an indicator of how successful the new players will be.
This. I don’t care about net spend - I care about improving the first team. Net spend is a power trip.

Clarification!!!
Poch wants us “to be brave”. Means, he doesn’t want us to buy one player, then seek to sell 2/3 before we deal next. If! For example we haven’t managed to sell before we acquire our targets. Acquire our targets, then balance the books by outgoings, leaving a deficit of say 30-50m. Hope that makes sense.

At risk of pissing off the mods and getting this deleted:

Alderweireld- 45-55m
Wanyama- 15m
Dembele - 15/20m
Aurier - lucky to get 10m for him now
Sissoko- 15m
Janssen- 10m
Llorente - 5m
NKoudou- 3m

Optimistically - 120m
Conservatively - 100m

You do know Levy is our chairman right?

Wanyama 15m? - At least £35

Even the poor players like Sissoko. Llorente and NKoudou we will get altogether £45m + in todays market.

Hang on a sec, but to me it sounds like if all this come to pass, our squad which needs strengthening actually becomes a lot lighter in personnel?

Am I wrong in thinking from Herc’s info that we aim to get 4 in but release 6 to balance this? Doesnt this leave us a bit short, squad wise to be challenging on all fronts?

Poch could be thinking KWP, Onomah and other youngsters are ready to feature more.

So, it was actually De Ligt who was that special 70 mil player that Levy was having kittens about according to ITK a few days ago. Well that's underwhelming. He is no doubt a prospect but when we desperately need a new top quality cm I would rather we spent that sort of cash on Savic for example. I understand the market is a joke at the moment, but we can't get too wrapped up in individual transfer sagas, and we certainly can't go financially toe to toe with city in a bidding war.

Herc gave an example. He also gave a list of players we MIGHT sell. It doesn’t follow they’ll all go. But wade right in with worst case scenarios

£70M fucking hell! Todays market is truly insane, if de Ligt is valuated that high Toby should be at 90 but thats not the case. But if we believe de Ligt is the shit we need to Do business. The thing worrying me is the CM position. I have not seen any players in the press that would excite me, hopefully the mysterious one is a good one.

I think we have one of the biggest squads just now anyway, some who don't it shouldn't get much time. If we can replace these player with a few who will push or be in the first team, then this will give us a better first team and squad rotation option.

Bit late to the party...on sesh yesterday.

What I'd like to add...

Seen a fair few posts regarding the £170 million Herc mentioned. Some stating if we buy De Ligt and Martial we'll only have £40 million left.

IIRC...was it not mentioned that we'd have circa £150 million plus monies generated from player sales, allowing for book juggling act if needed.

Chill.

Hmm. Something has changed.

Based upon the onus that there is 150m available for transfers, plus anything generated from player/sakes (leaked deliberately by the club to the media who cite 120m) it is then very realistic

I really cannot understand how ignorant people can spam, and find funny. Did I say we would spend 200m? Did I? Not aimed at you Ruffintgepuffin. I said based upon the fact that there is a 120m plus available for purchases, and anything else we generate from player sales. Why on earth is that a...

Now Poch has said it, I will unfold few bit more. We WILL exceed 150m spend, which relies not on sales, and a good amount of sales monies will be added.

I don’t want to get pillared fir this! But only if! Toby goes would we be in the market for any CH, including Lgit. Therefore, it would not effect our starting Funds pot (150).

This is not involving Bale! If! We get enough money on top of budget (150), and be sneaky smart, we would push on a big 70m signing...

...

Acquire our targets, then balance the books by outgoings, leaving a deficit of say 30-50m. Hope that makes sense.

A 30m-50m deficit is very, very different to a 150m deficit. One is less than most lower league PL teams' net spend last summer, the other puts us in a bracket with the top 3/4.

Can’t care less about gross or net just want the players in early and we can start the season with a fully integrated squad.

Aurier I guess we hoped would work and we would end up selling tripps. That is to much of a risk now.
