Of course not! Chelsea are in turmoil, their manager is about to be either sacked or will resign, their only world class player will leave without CL football, and they won what has become a meaningless trophy. Seasons swapped and all that would be true for us.

I thought of this yesterday and in the greater scheme of things i suppose CL football at this moment is of greater importance from a revenue stream perspective.

However as i watched that game, it hurt knowing that could/should have been us in that final. I say this in light of our abject performances over the last 6 weeks of the season. The team that showed up against Liverpool,A:angelic:rsenal and Especially United and Chelsea in the league just did not deliver in the closing stages of the season and in our semifinal to United.

We could have had 3rd and a cup.:(

I still think its a special trophy. But watching that dour performance from Chelsea and United i can't help but feel we would have created a better atmosphere.

To be honest we should have finished 3rd and won the FA cup.

Unfortunately our drop in form came at the run in, which is when the important semi finals and finals are played.

CL qualification was vitally important for this group of players and ahead of moving into the new stadium, but we missed a big chance this year to lift a trophy too.

No chance.

I appreciate everything the team has achieved this season under what could be considered difficult circumstances.

Heck...even Poch said he was going to celebrate.

As for the ' 4th place trophy'...Pretty sure beginning of every season we are aiming to win the league. If we don't, and we finish in top 4, I'll take that.

Top London club, finishing above media darlings Liverpool, Arsenal left in our wake...Yeah Man.

Yes a final and the chance of a cup is always special...but in the grand scheme of things, I didn't sit watching that final yesterday bitter and twisted because we didn't win the Cup or even reach the final.

Nah...I'll enjoy my Tuesday and Wednesday nights watching Spurs in Champions league thank you.

...and come Thursday when Chelsea are heading off to play in some farmers meadow in the back of beyond, I'll piss myself laughing, and their FA cup win won't be stopping me.

Strive for better, but don't let that stop you enjoying the here and now.

COYS!

No. If we never win another trophy then so bloody be it. We are who we are and as long as we accept we are trying to do things the right way then we can be accept the achievements we have made.

Went C. It’s all about trophies for me. Fuck being brainwashing like an arsenal fan into thinking there’s a fourth placed trophy. Our honours board doesn’t reflect that.

It's not about believing 4th place is a trophy, it's about being able to see the the bigger picture. Every time we qualify for the champions league we're increasing our revenue and our reputation in Europe, allowing us to attract better players and giving us more chance of future success. A trophy would be a fantastic tangible measure of our recent progression but any Spurs fan can tell from watching this side how far we're come.

I wouldn't change anything for Chelsea. They're a bloated corpse of a club washed up on the shores of some Russian sea contaminated with pilfered waste. Every season they expunge another classless, hissing fart from their decomposing orifice

It's not about CL or trophy, it's about consistency, performing week in, week out, not just for the odd one off match.

It's what Poch has been working on since he got here - that a level of performance is expected every single match, and that if you don't want to come on board with that, go play elsewhere.

Now, his next challenge is to find a way to win those big matches, by hook or by crook.

The sustainability of the club is the most important thing and CL is a huge deal. Without it we wouldn't be as strong in the transfer window and I'd hate to be going into the best stadium in the country with Europa League as the centrepiece. Keep building on what we've got and a trophy will come eventually.

I bet Chelsea are cursing the fact they missed out on Champions league and see the FA cup win as nothing more than the next best thing.

Winning the FA cup would have been great, but without looking, being honest, who remembers who won in 2013.

Exactly, I'll enjoy winning trophies, but accept it's not the 'be all and end all' if we don't

No, the FA Cup is a bonus, a shiny cherry on the season's cake. We need to be consistently progressing in the league. The FA Cup wont pay for the stadium or new contracts. The league is out meat and drink and we have to judge progress by that, and being at the top table means champions league.

For all the talk of trophies, has it helped Arsenal at all with all the FA Cups? Yesterday i tried to remember who won the League Cup THIS SEASON and for the life of me i don't know without looking it up. But i sure as hell know who finished in the top 4.

Bring things up to date
Just add a 'qualified for Champions' League' column
to the Honours Board.
Simples.
