So what would you suggest, just keep a player that is going to throw his toys out of the pram every time he can't get his own way? He is a £60mil asset that we can't afford to just let rot in the reserves.

I heard the same argument with Walker in the summer. Now it’s Rose. Next summer it’ll be Alli or Toby or another player. Sorry but I just don’t want us giving into players’ demands to leave for domestic rivals. Soon it’ll become a habit and other clubs will simply pick off our best players every year.

Again what do you suggest? You are saying not to sell him so what do we do with him if he is not willing to put the effort in for the shirt? Disruptive influences need to be moved out of the squad for the greater good. It really is as simple as that.

As I have posted before numerous times....No player will be sold unless the manager believes it to be in the best interest of the club.

I thought he had sorted his shit out now? Couple of weeks ago wasn't he all rainbows and sunshine in the press?

Wonder if Poch's mad response yesterday was actually based on frustration with Rose then?

So if Rose is being disruptive as he is not always first pick and not on a parity with the best paid players at the club, how does he think playing for Man Utd will improve his situation?

Even if he doubles his salary, his big names teammates will be on X3 this new amount.
Maybe he does hold his place, but managers do not last long at the big spending clubs and maybe the next one likes someone else. If he starts missing large chunks of the season then his position could be upgraded.

What will be expected is he keeps his mouth shut whatever happens and we know he struggles there. For spurs fans he has a get out of jail free card for scoring that rocket against arsenal, and we are of course decent, knowledgeable fans. Man U fans will not be so tolerant if he starts mouthing off.

Yes make some sort of stand ffs instead of bowing down to every player that demands a move. Do contracts mean nothing nowadays or is it all to do with losing out on money.

The problem is that habitually selling disruptive influences creates additional disruptive influences. Any player that wants out will simply become disruptive, knowing that their desired move to the club of their choice will be granted.

Walker is disruptive and gets his move to City
Rose is disruptive and gets his move to Utd
Next summer, AN Other player is disruptive and gets their move too.

We have to be very careful this doesn't become a pattern. At some point we have to make a stand and tell the player in question they are not moving to the the club of their choice nor at the time of their choosing.

Modric wanted to go to Chelsea. We refused and eventually sold him abroad, a more preferable outcome. I appreciate this isn't possible with every player but as I said, sometime you need to take a short term hit in order to send a message that we are not a feeder club. Most players are professionals and eventually they will knuckle down.

That's fair enough, but how many teams worldwide can compete in terms of wages and now prestige with ManU, ManC and Chelsea? We sold Modric to Real, but if they, Barca or PSG aren't interested then what? Juve and Bayern don't pay the same in either wages or fee, let alone the second tier so what do we do?

Also, if we want to recruit the likes of Davinson Sanchez would we be able to if we were known as the sort of club who put you in the reserves rather than let you go?

We need to be willing to sell only for ridiculous money AND have a replacement ready but there is a reason that the titles and prestige goes to the bigger clubs - they hoover up all of the talent, this is modern football and it's why we are massively overachieving.

Why aren't we paying our players more?

Them being on lowish wages make them easier and more desirable to the money clubs.

Maybe it's by design, ah top 4 problems eh!

How do you know what our players are being paid? If you go by leaks in the media Ben Davies is on 70k which is more than Phil Jones starting CB at Man United 65k, wages is just a stick the media use to poke at us, their will be new contracts being offered and signed as we speak

Hmm. If we sell Rose to Utd in Jan it's a massive kick in the teeth. I thought it was bad enough selling Walker to City and this will only further cement our reputation as a feeder club. Two of the best full backs in the premiership sold to rivals within 6 months? Not very encouraging IMO.

I'm honestly starting to question if I can be bothered with football if this is true.
I don’t think it’s that cut and dried. You have to put every situation in context. Selling an aging and unhappy Walker for more than he’s worth to City, basically in exchange for Sanchez & Aurier, was a brilliant piece of business. Selling an aging and unhappy Rose for more than he’s worth and then hypothetically bringing in players like Sessegnon & Gortetzka, would also be a brilliant piece of business. It all depends on the player and the situation. Nobody is suggesting we sell Kane, Alli, Eriksen, to them.

Rather we don't see him in a spurs shirt anymore now.

I know how it will feel to see us finish 3rd with both of the Manx clubs a few points ahead of us, however there is nothing to say that wouldn't of happened anyway.

There is a hierarchy wether we like it or not. Figo left Barca for Madrid, Ronaldo left Uts for Madrid. If Barca can't keep him then why Rose? Let's maximise the leverage, heads up and keep moving. Rose will create a media circus likely, and it's not being held to ransom, it's football.

Personally I think Davies is now better and Rose may never be the same player anyway.

Let the dick jog on, and let us go about keep building.

If we got martial in exchange, I think it's us that's robbed them anyway. Personally I'd test the water for Rashford, the England contingent at Spurs shows him it's a good place for an English player to be.

That would be most of the clubs media staff, Baroness Donna Cullen of the Hotspur, any of her flunkies that have gotten on her shitlist and Daniel Levy himself when he's had too much ribena,

If we keep selling our best players (without adequate replacements ) to our rivals, I can’t see how we are ever going to win the league.

If a player is disruptive and wants out, then I’d rather sell abroad, even if it’s at a slightly lower fee.

There needs to be a market for the player to go abroad and the player would actually want to go there as well.
