Was watching with my mates who were showering Spurs with respect...even the most ardent Arsenal fan said we were great but then said how long till Kane leaves lol (always a but or backhanded compliment) but anyways we were just in awe of how good a footballer Modric is, absolutely amazing player, every thing he does is so effortless and graceful, very proud that we once had him at Tottenham

Do you think he'll start with a fit Rose in the squad now?

If poch all of a sudden drops Davies just because rose is back fit then I'll lose a bit of respect for poch. Davies has been nothing short of immense this season so far and has done nothing to lose his starting berth.

Big chest has got a major fight on his hands if he wants his starting postion back.

The best thing from that performance, IMO, was the interplay between Sissoko and Aurier. Aurier will be a legend for us, and if the pair of them can play like that consistently, then I'd like to see them as starters in the Prem.

Still finding his feet but had Marcelo in his pocket, who would have skinned Trippier

Aurier had a good game but he makes rash decisions and cost us a goal tonight let's not forget.
Trippier may or may not have been skinned tonight but you can't knock him when he didn't even play

He'll have to sort his decision making out when it comes to tackling first. Cost us a penalty and a potential corner in our favour, through impatience and diving in when he didn't need to.

Not trying to play down Winks performance, bit that stat is a little misleading when you take into account just how many times Modric tried to break out lines with his passing.
Modric also attempted something like 74 passes to winks' 44. But yeah, winks was great

Cost us a "potential corner in our favour"? Fuck me, who cares? He ran the left side of the second best team in the world ragged. The pen was a last ditch attempt to stop what looked like a certain goal.

I don't mind players who make the odd mistake, if they also create opportunities for us, and he did that.

Poch will get Serge up another couple of gears, potential monster of a full back we have on our hands.

Cut out the indiscipline and his propensity for unsafe sliding challenges and he could be stupidly good. I love the way he draws a man in and then skips past him, and whenever he's under pressure, he'll find a way out. He's just a very talented footballer.

I think it'll be similar to the Aurier/Trippier situation. They'll both start regularly and get a share of the big games to keep each other fresh. It'll be incredibly valuable to have 4 full-backs of their varying skill-sets over the winter break.

Special mention to Aurier. Silly bloody error and he could have gone to pieces, but from that point onwards he was a rock and never gave Marcello a sniff.

I agree with you, but if he’s going to make rash decisions like that and against West Ham regularly then it sadly won’t matter how good the rest of his game is.

His talent is there but his discipline isn't but if he can sort that out then we most certainly have upgraded on walker.

We will not disgrace ourselves. I don't think we will get tanked. Verts, Toby and Sanchez will be on top of their game.

If Eriksen doesn't get overwhelmed by the occasion we will give them a bloody battle! COYS

If Eriksen was on it we may have won this.

Alderweireld had the ball covered for the pen... And indeed cleared it. That was indiscipline. And when we're pushing a game, I bet you a ham sandwich that Poch cares about costing us an advantage, and will be showing him that today or tomorrow.

Yep, assuming we win at home to Apoel that's 10 points meaning Dortmund have to win v us and Madrid in Madrid as well as Madrid beating us at Wembley, a lot has to go right for them and wrong from us from here on in for us to fail.

We have to beat APOEL first...

The order of the games is a bit of a bummer though. We play Apoel in our final game, if we had them next and won then we'd pretty much be through with two games to go. As it is if we lose against Madrid then Dortmond could draw level with us on points in the penultimate game which would make the final match a much more nervous affair. I'm still confident that we'll go through, but it could be a bit more of a bumpy ride than some seem to think.
