One man Team my Arse! This is aimed at the Media who have been bleating on all week that we are doomed without our dear Harry. Saying that we did miss him.

Dier has regressed from last season imo

Davies has proved me wrong as although he is still not quite there, he has grown more into the role as a wing back

Dele pisses me off with his lame unproductive flicks

Still not decided on my MOTM. Close between Toby Wanyama Dembele and Eriksen

EXCELLENT

VERY GOOD Eriksen, Dembele Toby Wanyama

GOOD Verts Davies Lloris Dele Winks

FAIR Dier Son Trippier

POOR Walker

NET Janssen

Dembele or Wanyama for me but every player put in a shift against a tough side. Great result that

We were very slacking in the 2nd half. Every single player. How we can play so well in the 1st half and turn up crap in the 2nd just beats me.

Victor Wanyama for me...

Saints were tough, very tough. Huge win, ground it out. A few years ago we'd have lost that game..

Sorry for the wtf rating bullet, but toby "very good"? he gifted them their goal. that drops him down a notch at least.

Hugo 6 - no hope on their goal, but kicking was shitter than usual
Walker 6 - not a good day for him at all
Dier 6.5 - he still looks better as a midfielder imo
Toby 6 - good game, but absolutely handed them their goal so subtracted a full point
Jan 7 - solid game, love how he carries it out from the back with confidence
Davies 7 - did perfecly fine
Wanyama 7.5 - he is basically the same every game, never misses a beat
Dembele 7.5 - also had a typical performance
Eriksen 7.5 - was probably an 8.5 in the first half, but disappeared in the second
Dele 7 - similar to chris
Son 6 - chances were few and far between

Trippier 7
Winks 8 - he was phenomenal
Vince 10 - take a bow son, 3 fouls drawn in only a short appearance

Verts then Victor, Winks was excellent when he came on, always plays on the front foot, looks up and is so positive

First half was easily Eriksen. Vertonghen so important for us when we're in possession.
Think we dropped in quality second half, everyone did a job, but had their good and bad moments.
Trippier was a bit off for me, Winks and Janssen however did a massive job holding onto the lead.

Seemed to be waiting for the whistle to go from about the 46th minute.
Some very poor passing, not just by Hugo. 10th home win running.
Half a game, half a game half a game onward. They made a game of it second half.

Hugo.........5........Kicking awful, otherwise a spectator.
Walker.......6 .......Not his finest hour.
Alders........7........Unusual error for him.
Dier............7........OK today.
Verts..........7+......Decent overall
Davies.......7........Run of the mill stuff.
Dembele....7.......Typical Moussa performance. Curates egg.
Wanyama...7.......Not as impressive today.
Eriksen.......8.......Vital first goal again. Buzzing first half. Fly swatted second.
Dele............7.......Bought and scored the penalty. Delicatessence.
Son.............6.......Not very effective today.

Winks.........Should start ahead of someone or other One of our own.
Trippier.......Awful
Janssen......Trier..Needs to come on sooner to settle.

Good win. You know the drill sign of a good side when winning but not playing well

Odd one to judge.

Thought Lloris looked shaky today. His kicking was abysmal, but everyone misplaced passes today.
A lot of our long diagonals were way off.

Enjoyed Winks and Janssen.

Overall, maybe Eriksens first half display aside, I think everyone blew hot and cold a bit. I don't think there were really any standout culprits as being woefully gash or anything. And similarly being exceptional either.

I'm just pleased we won, having made slightly hard work of it.

Thought we were generally a bit shaky defensively today and gave the ball sway too much.

Eriksen MOTM for genuine quality that made the difference. He's really come on this season imo and is approaching world class territory.

Vertonghen was my choice; Dembele was steady but Winks really showed how quicker transitions from midfield to attack are more effective. Janssen looked sharper than previous occasions and he's happy to put it about. I think we need to be patient with him; he could really grow into our squad

Vic seemed like the only player who didn't switch off second half

Winks seemed to get some energy back in the team when he came on
