How could it be stated that it "might be a blessing" by going out of Europe's second biggest Cup competition pray tell? I mean if we can't beat Gent over one hundred and eighty odd minutes do you truly think we will beat Arsenal, Chel$ea of Man Ure over ninety ?

Agreed, but my point is they weren't put away, and how many times can you put that down to bad luck, before it becomes recognition of poor finishing?
Tonight was on the surface a much better performance than some of the crap we've served up in cups in recent years (it helps Poch seems to finally be learning his lesson and is actually putting strong teams out) but when you step back from what you saw on tv/at Wembley, the facts are that we conceded two goals, had a player sent off, and lost a tie to a mid-table team from an awful league. Once you take that step back you suddenly realise that anything but a comprehensive win is actually a poor result.

Why does it matter who you go out to? You're that bothered by what others think? How many people besides those who come up with those bullet points BBC post or the Sky stat men, will remember this result at this exact point next season?
I'm bothered by performances and results but really couldn't care what other people think long term, it's a sport thus meant to be enjoyed, if you hold onto much more that that ... Well.

Not about what other people think, losing to piss poor teams should hurt you as a fan. You lose to a good team, you at least can say you were bested. We best ourselves, time and again, and get stuck in a cycle of self-doubt. Winning is a habit, and not one we look to be acquiring any time soon

I don't think it's the end of the world and it's not something I am bothered by. Now the Liverpool game and the result against Chelsea end of last season, that hurt. This, not so much.
Label away, another hilarious generational thing, this result is shit but I'm more bothered by what happens next in the league and the FA Cup if I am honest.

The second Alli got sent off it was pretty much game over. I do give credit to the team tho, second half they really did fight for it. But we just don't have a big enough squad to challenge on multiple fronts.

I was just suprised at the outpouring of dismay tbh. I genuinely didn't realise this is how much the Europa meant. I also satnd by what else I have said.
