GKN seems to have a better attitude, which can carry him a lot further than zaha, but there both really raw and zaha is more physically gifted which gives him an edge atm.
GK has a bright future hes the signing they all wanted N'Jie to be last season. Only Hes actually shown glimpses where as N'jie barely showed anything!!

Exactly all njie showed was that assist against man city Gkn has already showed more I think Gkn should become a big part of our squad.

I don't think we should buy CBs, especially until we know what the status of Alderweireld is.

We could switch back to a 4-2-3-1 and manage for a little bit.

We're in a fantastic position in the league so it's better to be cautious and bring someone in even if it's just a loan. I'd rather do that than have to rely on Dier and Wimmer, the latter whom was shocking this evening.

I really want to respond to this, but I feel it could delve into a discussion of formations, selections, and tactics so I won't.

We'll have to wait and see on Alderweireld and then wait for more illuminating info from the Big 3 of ITK.

Funny how things change... prior to tonight Poch said we had adequate cover but one injury scare and a shocking Wimmer performance later and now there's a hint we need cover? Keeping it brief, we can shuffle the pack but it would be detrimental to the team by moving in form players to fill a gaping hole in defence. Whereas if we bring someone else in we can keep players in their preferred positions.

I'm pretty sure todays game isn't something that needs bringing up in here. The site gestapo wouldn't like it and they'll only have a hissy.

Can we talk about it now. After all...it's now yesterday's game as opposed to today's.

Alright...Alright. I get it. I'm sorry

Just what we didn't need. Who will want to come in only for a few weeks as they know as soon as verts and Toby are back fit they will lose there place
Dude, that's easy; especially when you consider how JJ made his bones.

Depends if we take JJ's tweet as opinion or something more concrete. If we are going to be without Jan and Toby for any length of time we will need cover. One of Dier or Wimmer in there is fine (ish) but we clearly will need someone to be the "senior" defender.
Problem is, who - of the requisite experience and skill - would be available in the Jan window and be prepared to sign on the basis of falling right back down the pecking order when the Belgians return?!
Is there scope for a loan deal here?

I don't think it would be that difficult to convince people to come and join a side who are challenging for the title, still in Europe and the FA cup. The hard part would be identifying players that are good enough and available.

Fingers crossed we don't need to buy anyone though.

Re JJ tweet. Probably missed the boat with Fonte if he wanted emergency defensive cover. Could probably have sold on for a small profit in the summer if necessary.

I'm not giving up on Wimmer personally, our whole defence were well out of sorts for the first hour or so. I guess he had the OG against the Goons as a black mark already though.

Edit: Just caught up on the thread. Apologies if I'm the culprit was just an instant reaction to the JJ tweet. Please delete if so.

I think you are wrong about Dier.

I think Dier is the reason we are playing a back 3 because, like Dele, Dier has a tendency to show up for big moments in matches. Poch wants him on the pitch, but he clearly is not a great partner for Wanyama.

The facts that Dier has experience playing as a DM, CB, and RB, along with his long passing ability, make him an ideal player for the RCB in a 3-back line.
Excellent post- I'm too swollen with soft cheese to know why but I likes it

I'm a patient man, god knows i'm even a tolerant one too. But every now and again some complete numpty, erm sorry, one of our esteemed members pushes me toward the edge with a post so staggeringly spammy that it has sparkley sprinkley bits, whipped cream and a cherry on top, there's a fanfare playing and you can see rows of high kicking dancing girls in the background giving brief glimpses of camel toe as they go through their routine.
