Can we put this to bed now?

Our only weakness is our relative lack of pace in the centre of our defense and Shitty got such an array of different skill sets that Pep can exploit us by deploying all his speed merchants.

Nevertheless, I'm still very happy with the draw for the Spurs of yore would have just folded and lose by more than half a dozen.

Both goals may well have been avoided if we had simply had a third CB on the pitch. There was too much space between our defenders for Sane's goal and Sterling's chance. I'd say this is positioning, rather than lack of pace.

When Sterling is running beyond the defensive line at full speed, how many CBs would be able to turn 180 degrees and catch him? I can't think of one!

We should so play that tactic where we have players in an offside position as a decoy... It confuses the fuck out of defenses.

Only just finished watching the match....think I need a lie down.

I've been saying all week that there was far too much over confidence on here, but I still expected a tight game. What we got instead was a bit of a horror show in all honesty.

However, we stuck in there and took our two chances well and considering we played a lot of the game with Wanyama and Dier as our two CB's we deserve credit for showing plenty of character.

On another day though we could have been smashed and I don't want to hear how we never get any luck or decisions because we got away with it today.

I still think we brought a lot of it on ourselves by pissing around with it in our own half. There is a time to play and a time to play the percentages and if you play out from the back against a team pressing high then you have to be quicker and constantly giving the other player options. We didn't do that. We have to learn because we'll face the same scenario at Anfield in a few weeks.

Still, forget the performance, take the point and move on.

Overall I thought we were poor, we were never really in control of the game and lucky to get in at half time 0-0, we gifted them two goals due to basic errors from Lloris but at that stage I thought City probably deserved the two goal lead. Fantastic from the boys to come back and get a draw. I can understand why City fans will be disappointed but to be honest, I don't think it was a penalty anyway, it really was a minor touch and not enough to really put off Sterling or bring him down.

As an aside, I loved how disappointed the commentator and the BT studio team were. The fapping off over the new Brazilian player, they were so delighted when they thought he had scored and so disappointed when Son got our equaliser.

Ha!

I wasn't anywhere near as confident before this game as I was before we beat Chelsea.

Chelsea were full of confidence, so naturally tried to continue playing the same way. We outplayed them in every area of the pitch and won 2-0.

When we beat Man City, they were in decent form and tried to play their way. We outplayed them in every area of the pitch and won 2-0.

Today, we faced a Man City team that was failing with its usual tactics, had a point to prove and has a manager that had learned from previous mistakes. As you say, they set out to stop us from playing our game, instead of trying to play their own game.

They hardly tri d to stop us, they just attacked us for the whole game which had the desired affect but they did not set up to stop us.

That is a huge point because it keeps our momentum going and stops heads from dropping. City may have outplayed us for the most part but they made us look bad and we still came back from two goals down.

They were great off the ball and kept our forwards out of the game most of the time but thankfully not many teams have the quality to do that. Hopefully Poch and the players can take lessons from today and keep improving.

Toby Alderweireld confirmed that he felt tight in his hamstring, but that it doesn't look bad. Precaution. #COYS #THFCpic.twitter.com/MMFHVBJx9z

Alderweireld came off because he felt his hamstring was about to snap. Didn't want to take the risk to be out for 5-6 weeks. #thfc #coys

That is absolutely massive. With ten days until the next league match hopefully he won't miss any matches.

It's a point gained not two lost.

Fantastic result even if the performance was patchy at best.

As has been said a previous Spurs team would have rolled over. No denying our luck. But we still scored two goals. I doubt we will have a harder test this season.

They frantically pressed us every time we had the ball, to an extent that I don't recall ever seeing a Man City side do before. Was this not to stop us playing?

We normally start our attacks by passing around at the back and patiently waiting for space. Man City stopped us from doing this, and played very differently to normal in order to achieve that.

Two strands to this.

Dissappinting that we didn't start the game full throttle and allowed them to smother us. Reality check.

Also, that Spurs from times past would have lost the game 4-0. These fuckers scrap, battle and persevere for each other.

Yes we were second best, but by Jove they fought for each other

On reflection I'm not sure another team would have lived with City in that mood, in the end though, we did.

Kane offside, Gerrard? Watch again, you Scouse prick!

Was kane really offside for the build up? Stevie g is convinced but i didnt think it was so clear cut
You've made me think of this:

He's only got one knee...

anyone think that we may have went into this game a bit too confident.
Poch said as much in his post-match interview.

Fans, players or manager?

I don't particularly think it was a case of us underestimating them, rather them simply playing really well and us struggling to match them. Finishing aside, I'd say that was Man City's best performance of the season by some margin.

I was expecting them to either put in a huge performance or be just as awful as against Everton, but not anywhere in-between.

King is my all-time favourite player and had great powers of recovery, but he didn't just chase players down by pure speed (i.e. Micah Richards stylee). King had fantastic positioning, awareness and decision making, in addition to being rapid.

Sterling was up to full speed and beyond our defenders before any one of them had started to turn. At this point, even King wouldn't have been able to catch him. However, King may well have read the though-ball early and turned before the pass was made, to give himself some hope of recovering the situation. Better yet, he might have been better positioned, to prevent Sterling's run or to intercept the through-ball.

For the famous Robben incident, Robben was not actually sprinting at full speed, because he thought he was too far clear to be caught. The way King shut out Henry on multiple occasions was actually far more impressive.
