I like this. I agree - it really is time for us to finally win something. 2008 was a long time ago.

I worry that we may end up like the exciting Leeds team that looked like they were on the verge of something special (in the league, in Europe) but sadly still have to look back to the 70s for their last trophy.

Leeds won the league in the 91-92 season.

Think it's Chelsea's title to lose now...

Hopefully they will drop a few points and make the race a little interesting.

We are up against it, even if we had won today it's unlikely Chelsea will drop enough points for us to catch them anyway tbh.

It's been theirs to lose for a while now really. Even if they lose Costa there's just too much quality there, and Conte's infectious determination has got hold of them.

it's theirs to lose if it is March now.. still some way to go for some twist and turns...

meanwhile, can never discount our North London neighbour scums...

Chelea have Liverpool and Arsenal next, lets see where we are after that before declaring them champions. Today was our most difficult remaining game (on paper at least) and I fancy us to finally take 3 points at Anfield.

Still think we will do it, plenty of football to be played between now and the end of the season. A draw away at City will not define our season in any way. Despite their lead, and I know many will disagree with me, I really don't think Chelsea are all that and are very beatable. Their starting fullbacks are Marcus Alonso and Victor Moses. Gary Cahill and David Luiz start for them at centre back. They have been well beaten by three of the top four already this season and gaps of this size have been overhauled from better teams than this current Chelsea side in a far shorter time frame in the past. If bottom of the table Swansea can go to Anfield and win, then Chelsea can drop points over the rest of the season.

7 points was the margin with Leicester for most of this timeframe in the season and Chelsea's team squad is far superior than theirs.... Incidentally when people say we messed it up last season it always winds me up as it's factually inaccurate, as Leicester never gave us an opening to mess it up. Leicester never dropped the requisite points to allow to top the table.

And it's going to be more than 7points by this time tomorrow.

Precisely.

At this stage in the season the teams below the leaders don't lose the title. We can only try and hang onto Chelsea's coat tails and hope they slip up.

I honestly think we should do our best to just bring some kind of silverware back to the Lane before it's knocked down. I think the FA cup is the best hope of that, and we really should go all out for it now.

Over the next 10 or 11 games Chelsea have way more "high potential to drop points" games than us.

And don't discount Hull to get something tomorrow by utilising the well known "new manager bounce" phenomenon.

Great away point in hindsight, given Toby got injured, Wimmer had to be subbed for tactical change and that 2 goal clangers from Lloris. Incredible point to get.

At one point when we went down 2-0, Alli got a silly yellow for pushing Ottamendi, I got Deja Vu of Chelsea & Newcastle away. But the lad & others kept their cool and got us back into the game.

We may have lost ground to Chelsea, atleast we got ahead of Liverpool & maintained position with United & City.

To be honest I'm not even thinking about the title at the moment, not when after 2 or so games we could just as easily fall out of the top 4 altogether dependant on results. I'm more concerned with creating a gap between us and 5th.

Title race is over and I'm not bothered that the rent boys will win the league.

We still need the belief to fight for the title, as Bill says, then we still in a echo of glory even if we lose it. Otherwise, you can see what happened last season vs Newcastle
