My west ham mate always said you could see he's a good player but not set up for the rough and tumble of Moyes' style of play. I think he'd score plenty in a system like ours.
Whilst I agree we don't 'need' more of this type of player, the chance to sign someone as good as Simakan shouldn't be passed up, as long as the finances are right, IMO.
Look at City, they had Akanji, Dias, Stones, Ake, Lewis & Walker last season then replaced Laporte with Gvardiol. If we want...
I really like Simakan. I think it would be a good move, on the condition that it doesn't impact pursuits of more urgent needs such as wingers, striker, DM.
With CL looking fairly likely, and even the EL I suspect Ange would take seriously anyway, we need more first XI standard players to chop...
Just watched some youtube, Baena looks a good player but definitely not a dribbly winger like Williams. Would take him as a 8/10 option for sure though
Dier a better/more modern 'footballer' but Dawson was very good at the physical side of the game which was still prominent 10-15 years ago. I'll say Dier but not much in it
Would bring Micky back in for sure, and start Brennan too. Otherwise maybe GLC for Madders? Bentancur for Biss?
Need to freshen up but also those 2 need a kick up the backside!
Don't want to be a grump but no way we only lose 1 of those tough games, particularly with City & Arse going for the title/Wham & Chelsea existing for no other reason than to cause us headaches
