I can't believe people are still banging on about ticketless fans pushing in!!! This has been proved wrong by the Hillsborough enquiry. They have countless hours of footage from BBC cameras, police CCTV footage, club cameras etc. Not to mention thousands of pictures from journalists. All this...
Non league FC United fans standing in a seated area while they shared at Bury!
In 50 years of watching football I've never seen people seated create anything like this for atmosphere.
I went to this match, the atmosphere was just fantastic and it was constant for 90 minutes. You had kids to pensioners there and no one moaning that they couldn't see.
The old Park lane lower was where the singers would congregate and everyone stood for the entire match. Every Spurs fan knew this, and if you wanted to sit, this wasn't the best spot to pick a seat. The away fans also spent the game on their feet.
Now I remember the club asking fans what they...
The best atmosphere generated at football grounds is is always in sections where people stand. And I have 50 years experience of going to games from non league to champions league.
I was at hillsborough in 81 and it's astonishing people are still uninformed about what happened in the leppings...
The atmosphere was really good, just what you would hope it would be for a big game.
I did notice those stewards randomly grab people for standing when the whole block was doing the same. There was no trouble in the Paxton until they started making themselves busy. All you had was people really...
I was standing in the Paxton lower and it was the best atmosphere in that end for years.
I'm 58 and grew up watching spurs from the shelf and I really miss the terraces. The fact that we lost our terraces based on the Lies told about Hillsborough still to this day makes me angry. Everyone knows...
It's just my personal opinion of course, but I've never seen anything to move me at football more than this, the hairs stand on end every time I watch it.
I went to look at the ground last week and walked down lordship lane from Turnpike Lane and it took me 30 minutes. Nice comfortable walk that took me through Bruce castle park, I must say there's a wonderful view of the stadium from the park!
Your other option is to just walk down White Hart...
I don't know if you have been to Hillsborough or if you were there in 81? Nothing personal because if you were there in 81 you would not be writing this rubbish.
Back in the 80's all clubs had their hooligans, including spurs,
It's clear to me you have never watched a documentary on Hillsborough...
It's about time Duckenfield faced the music but I would be very worried if he was made the sole scapegoat.
Many things went wrong day day which led to the disaster.
Sheffield city council certainly were to blame for overestimating the capacity of the leppings lane end AND its also there duty to...
I was at Hillsborough in 81 standing on that same terrace. My memories are similar to eastlondonyid above.
What I can't get my head around is some on here still peddling the lies and myths about ticketless drunk Liverpool fans.
The Taylor report went through 71 hours of footage from 4 sources...
I went last night and it was a very enjoyable evening, the football was a joy to watch, and i can honestly say techically we were a match for the Barca team. Their academy is highly praised in the football world and rightly so, but we are not far behind.
A fantastic turnout by the 1882 section...
