    I think this is a bit of Ndombele syndrome where during the first season everyone says, “he’ll be ok next season once he’s got used to the league”, and when he gets even worse people say “he did have a good first season though”. People were very complimentary about him after one particular game...

    It would be pretty weird if the UK paid millions of pounds to bribe a corrupt organization for the right to host an event that we had no cultural connection to and in which consumption of khat, coca leaves etc. was a longstanding culturally ingrained aspect...and then banned it.

    Yes. This is correct. The real doubtful thing is whether xPC is a legitimate metric. It is hard enough to model xG, and I imagine that xPC is much harder again.
