Loan Watch Joe Rodon -Leeds United

Not the move I expected for Rodon. I was hoping for a PL loan, or at least top end of the Championship. It's going to be interesting to see how the CB situation plays out now. With Rodon off we desperately need a player capable of stepping into Diers role in the centre. Shifting Romero there...

    Nicolò Zaniolo

It will be this or a workaround whereby someone pays £15m but we pay half his wages for three years, I.e works out roughly a free transfer. Even this may be tricky. I was hoping PSG may take him off our hands for cheap as a homegrown squad player but doesn’t seem to be much interest.

    Player Gleison Bremer

Forget arguing about whether Dier is good enough to challenge for the PL, we need a genuine option to compete with him. Last year when he was out, our defence fell to pieces, even with Romero on the pitch. It's clear we need another proper defender who can organise the back line. I think...

    Lucas Paqueta

He’d be a great and slightly cheaper alternative to Raphinha. Our lack of interest in Eriksen definitely makes me think we are looking at an alternative creative player. Perhaps someone who could operate in a front three as well as more of a number 10 if we wanted to play two up top. This guy...

    Joško Gvardiol

I mean, that would be the dream wouldn’t it? Gvardiol, Davies, Dier, Bremer and Romero is a perfectly balanced set of 5 to compete for the three spots. Sanchez, Rodon and Tanganga could all be sold to raise funds. Not that I think it’s going to happen! It’s gone quiet on Torres but if we added...

    Joško Gvardiol

Hard to think of a better fit for the LCB role in Contes system. Great ball carrier and long-range passing. Very strong and mobile. 6ft 1. Aggressive in the tackle. He looks better suited to the PL than Bastoni IMO. The slight concern for me at that fee is whether long-term he would be quite...

Player Watch Player Watch: Yves Bissouma

This guy was near the top of my Wishlist for the summer. Absolutely massive upgrade on Winks, and the perfect signing for Conte's midfield two. Suddenly Skipp and Hojbjerg are going to have to fight to get into the team, when before January they were the only legit midfield options we had...

    Alessandro Bastoni

I was thinking this, but it would have to be weighted slightly more in our favour. Something like a clause that kicks in after three years and they have the option to purchase for £15-20m more than we paid? Obvs would require new ownership for them but that's not impossible in three years...

    Alessandro Bastoni

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Bastoni is a tad reluctant about moving here. He's a massive Inter fan and is living the dream, planned on being captain etc. Seems Inter are pushing him out of the door as the sacrificial lamb. Conte is the key to greasing the wheels but when he never commits...

    Player Watch Player Watch: Richarlison

I don't think he'd be the worst option in the world to be honest. I'd prefer Darwin Nunez who I think is just about the most ideal player out there we could feasibly target who could legitimately rotate with both Son and Kane, and potentially future proof us for the next decade if he adapts to...

Player Watch Player Watch: Yves Bissouma

With this new cash injection I could definitely see us paying a large fee for a top class CM, likewise an elite forward, but isn't De Jong on properly crazy wages at Barca? I think that's the main reason they're open to selling him. Hard to know what's true and what isn't but I've seen multiple...

    Player Watch: Ivan Perisic

Yep. Will be more like 200k a week, but that’s what you’d expect to pay a top player on a bosman really, as mad as it is.

    Alessandro Bastoni

This is where having a lump sum of cash actually available this summer could come in handy. We might be able to pay a much bigger percentage up front on a couple of key targets to get them over the line. I’m trying not to get hopes up on Bastoni though. It seems too good to be true.

    Player Watch: Ivan Perisic

I don't know if it's the case here but European teams/journos quite often describe their wages in NET form, i.e after tax. So probably more like £160k a week, which seems more realistic for someone of his status on a bosman. Might be wrong though. At 80k a week he'd be a bargain.

Eriksen could play this role like he did at Inter, with two workhorses either side of him. Neves or Phillips are also great passers from deep and can also operate in a 2.
