    I’d say Maddison’s post injury form has been the biggest problem in terms of our attack. he went from ‘signing of the season’ to virtually zero production. with that said, we still score 2 goals most games. In no way should Ange be worried about his job. do sometimes wonder if it will work out...

    Villa/Emery have definitely found a formula and have the quality to get the better of Ange’s tactics. Ange wont alter his tactics, but can he find an answer to this puzzle? Surely right now, Villa are more likely to get the breakthrough.

    I thought that the idea was to have wide forwards isolated out wide vs the oppo’s full backs Unfortunately our wide forwards aren’t really dribbly types. plenty of talent in midfield for us, but doesn’t seem to be able to create or dictate tempo right now.

    Kulu is such a confidence player. So inconsistent. I just wish we would swap wingers for 5 minute spells. Have left footers on left and right on the right. Also when Son is back, I hope he goes straight in at CF.

    I actually agree with you. And maybe me saying he was our best player, comes from a place of surprise. For the first 10-15mins of the game I was thinking ‘Hojberg really isn’t ideal for trying to play through this aggressive City press’. But in fairness I saw him grow into the game.

    We got in behind City 4 times I counted. 3 of those were from Hojberg passes, and he was involved in the 4th as well. Most players were excellent tonight, including VDV.

    I’ve really enjoyed the game. Top level football all round. Man City are excellent. Hojberg, despite the disastrous 1 minute, I think was our best player.

    I think the general feeling is that Spurs will be fun, but won’t be any bother to the big teams, so I think we will get quite an easy ride from pundits, with a heavy dose of patronization.
