The anti knee-jerk crying like a girl thread...

It's been a while since I've been on here. I do feel gloomy today! Not quite as bad as the 5-2 - I almost needed therapy after that one - but this runs a close second. That said, I knew it was Chelsea's destiny to win this. Even after Muller scored. Chelsea get their first corner and BANG...

    FA approach Hodgson!

Looks like Hodgson is in the bag. When we get knocked out in the prelimaries, the turnip will return....mark my words. Too easy a target and looks like a cartoon character in his angst ridden touchline routine. What annoys me is that this whole palaver has derailed our entire season. Harry...

►►►►►► Match Ratings VS Wigan Athletic ◄◄◄◄◄◄

Friedel - 7 - barely anything to do, not at fault for goal Walker - 6 - was scarcely involved, without Lennon we have limited options on the right King - 7.5 - didn't put a foot wrong, so calm Kaboul - 7.5 - tidy and was unlucky not to score BAE - 6.5 - an enigma, began many attacks first...

Ratings v Ruben Shazam (size of an elephant)!

Was at the game last night.....some interesting comments above. First up, Kazan are a technical side and it didn't take long to realise that the game would be hard for our B team. These guys are no Shamrock Rovers but I felt we contained them very well. Yes, attacks were allowed but apart...

    An Excellent Window! Here's why...

As has been mentioned already, it is clear that we cannot compete with Man Utd, Man City or Chelsea in the transfer market. Equally, we do not pay the same wages as Liverpool or Arsenal. Maybe once we have a larger stadium and/or the potential for regular CL football this will change but at...

Champions League Playoff - August 16/17/23/24

In other news, Plzen knocked out Copenhagen featuring an ex-Arnesen loanee signing, David Limbersky (remember him?)

MOM and player ratings - Hearts Vs Spurs

Thought Niko looked great. But Hearts gave us SO much space in the first half. Livermore, Walker, BAE, Defoe and VDV all looked good. Hudd was great when he came on. Good all-round, professional performance but no indication of how we'll fare this season. Still unsure about Gomes though.

    Defoe admits frustration

Defoe was saying this in the New Year too. But the fact is that he has had a shocking season - and to think i thought that Bent was always the lesser player? His attitude stinks - and he'll soon change his tune when he realises that none of the top six will be interested in him. He's...

    Match Ratings vs. Milan (H)

It wasn't the kind of game we expected but it was a fabulous defensive performance. Apart from one or two moments (like Gomes blunder) we looked solid in the face of a team who had much better possession. Ratings: Gomes 7 - apart from a couple of flaps and the blunder he looked assured and...

    Sandro

    I heart him

Was it wrong to sell Adel Taarabt?

Taarabt looks fantastic in the Championship. A world beater. Herein lies the problem. It's the Championship. A massive difference in quality. He might yet become a great player but he would have never done that at Tottenham in the EPL. Too much of a show pony and not enough team play. The...

    Ratings v Inter

Totally agree in every way. Excellent summing up.

    Ratings v Fulham

Was at the game yesterday, only just got round to writing up my thoughts.... Gomes 7 - a couple of good saves, but not much to do BAE 9 - MOM - always mobile, great cover and use of the ball King 7 - shame he went off, always looked imperious Gallas 8 - a very cool head and, despite his...

    Messi

Finest player I've ever seen. And he's only 22. It's always tricky to make comparisons but he's as good as, if not better than Maradona. Yeah, I'd part ex Jamie O for him!

    Why Spurs?

I became footie conscious about 1981 (when i was ten) I lived in South London so wanted to support a London team (unlike my bro who supported Liverpool) The top team in London was...... And they were on Top of the Pops. So I supported them :o)
